On the evening of July 24th, my wife and I were deciding what to have for dinner when we remembered that we saw a discount code for a buy one, get one free entree at Chipotle. We decided to go take advantage of this offer. We looked up the closest Chipotle to where we were at the time and the Layton location one happened to be the one. We stopped by the restaurant and ordered 2 nearly identical entrees. Once we got to the cash register they gave us our total, which was the total of both entrees and we told them that we have the code for the BOGO offer, which said ran from July 23-25. They told us that the offer only runs until 8 pm, and it was a little after 9 pm when we were there. I told them that I didn't realize the offer stated that when I initially saw it, assuming that it was in the fine print. Therefore, we willingly paid the full amount for both entrees and sat down in the restaurant to eat. While eating, I pulled the offer back up on Chipotle's website to read the terms and conditions of the offer and found that it said nothing about any specific hours to use the offer anywhere in the offer details. I approached one of the workers about this and she said that the offer is only valid from 4-8 pm. She said that it appears in their system during those hours and then the option disappears after 8 pm, so they are not allowed to select it. I told her that the offer said nothing about any specific hours to use it on Chipotle's website in the terms and conditions. I still had it pulled up on my phone to show her, but she just said that there is nothing that they could do because the offer button is not in their system for them to use. I understand that the offer may appear and then disappear in their system automatically, as she indicated, and I don't know if this was for just this location or all locations. My issue is that there was never any mention of specific hours to use it, so how are customers supposed to know if those important details are never stated anywhere in the offer? Had I realized this initially, we just would've waited until the following day to go during those hours when the offer was valid. It's frustrating for me, as a customer, to find out these type of details as I'm paying for my food which I thought would've been half the price and now I'm stuck paying full price when I only chose to visit this restaurant because of a discount offer which drew me there in the first place. The first picture is a screenshot of the ad that I initially saw on Facebook and the second picture is the terms and conditions of the actual offer on Chipotle's website. No where in either one is it stated any hours of when the offer can be used. This is false advertising and not fair to patrons that try to take advantage of the offer but are not able to due to details that were...
Read moreI've been here often and only a hand full of times was my order mixed up when ordering online or through door dash but its always quickly fixed or made right. This location garners a 5 star review. The week before the nation wide lock down caused be the pandemic, the company I was working for was informing us that per the direction of our new CEO our department was being dismantled and we were to take and step down in our job roles while still maintaining our pay. Well this lead to a very bad day for myself and the team I worked with. To the point that I thought I would quite, well this is where chipotle comes in. During my lunch I would often go here as it was quick and I was vegan and their food was always fresh and delicious. The manager at the time would always take the 2nd line workers post when I would come in, so that he could be the one to wrap my burrito cause he knew exactly how I liked it and was a true master of this skill. Well on this particular day I did not hold back in the 2 minute interaction when he asked me how my day was going. I let him know how terrible of a day I was having and just how unnerved I was by the news. He always asked how my day was going and I always said polite conversation back wishing him a good rest of his shift and thanked him for wrapping my burrito. Well on this day when I vented my emotions from that mornings meeting he gave me my burrito on the house and even sent me with fountain drink cup and his business card in case I needed to list him as a referral if I chose to apply following the bad news of my department being dismantled. I was so ready to pay and told him he didn't have to give me give me my food, but he insisted saying "someone has to make your day better, let that be us today." It was a kindness I never forgot even 4 years later. With all that said this manager went up in the company to be a district manager so when the pandemic ended and I didn't work in the area as much I didn't get to visit as often. I had visited the following year to learn of his incredible promotion. I hope he's still with the company making employees and customers days, one...
Read moreWhen we first walked in a girl was literally yelling at another employee and help up the entire work force. We had to sit there for a few minutes while she ripped into the poor guy for literally no reason other than she wanted help with dishes. I’ve worked in fast food and you can take that drama to the back of the store not do it in front of multiple other customers. She then proceeded to be incredibly rude to me and my husband. I couldn’t hear and ask “sorry what” she proceeded to yell “white or brown” at me in terms of rice while being irritated - this was the first thing she said to us. Proceeded to give a half scoop of rice and moved on. My husband then asked if the tacos came with rice and beans, we were told yes but a nicer gentlemen and then checked out with no rice and beans. My husband was confused and said “sorry I thought you said this came with rice and beans” he said “it does” and the rude lady interrupted and said “we don’t just offer it you have to ask” and then proceeded to be annoyed with us and glare.
I get have a bad day, I understand working in the food industry is not fun, but don’t be rude to customers and def don’t be rude to the people who work with you in front...
