MOD Pizza — Restaurant in Layton

WE LOVE Mod Pizza but this location is a disaster. We took our family to the Layton location for the first time on July 6th. It was about 11 and slow when we arrived. The two girls were both asking questions and confusing our order. My husband finally said, take her order first because it was getting nowhere. They both were making one salad.

We sat down not too far away from the pickup counter. We waited and waited. I looked around and saw that everyone seated had had their pizza. There was one on the counter. The girl looked right at us. She went and cleaned the soda station and walked around. She was the one baking the pizza's.

Finally she called my name. I went up and realized that it was the pizza that was sitting out for at least 10 minutes. I told her that it was probably cold and she said rudely that she called my name 4 or 5 times. I questioned her and she turned her back and walked away from me. I asked her name and she ignored me. Finally I raised my voice and asked her name for the 3rd time. She said LYDIA!

There is no way she called our name that many times! Maybe once and not loud enough. We were right there. She could have easily asked whose pizza it was from her co-workers. ZERO customer service and horrible attitude.

As suspected the pizza was cold. We will NOT be returning to this location. I am not the only one that had a problem. We saw a family waiting for their pizza only to find out it had been sitting out for a while. They were as irritated as we were. I would never have some like LYDIA work for me. She is not who I would want representing my business.

Updating our previous 3 star review to 5 stars. Stopped by Layton location and happy to report that none of the previous issues were repeated this time. Built our pizzas exactly as we asked without any pushback or attitude. Manager running oven cared about ensurig everything was perfect. We will be back more and not drive to Riverdale every week yo that location...Layton location is great now. PREVIOUS 3-STAR REVIEW BELOW FOR REFERENCE We love Mod pizza...but...the Layton location is noticeably sub-par. We eat at the the Riverdale location almost every time we go there but live in Layton so we eat there alot too. At Riverdale they are happy to accommodate special requests and preferences but Layton you have to stand your ground yo get what you want. Example: Riverdale let's us order sauce, cheese and topings to the edge (no edge crust) but in Layton they always say "we can't because we have to grab the edge to get in the oven". Riverdale staff are quick and efficient...Layton is noticeably slow. Today Layton didn't take time to put cap on balsamic container for drizzling on pizza...instead poured from open bottle so heavy on edges and almost none on rest. Asked for Asiago cheese after cooking..."we put that on before cooking"...so it's a bother that I ask for it after? If you can make the drive to Riverdale...

This location literally used to be my wife and I's favorite place to go eat. The staff was great, made excellent and organized pizza, it was well maintained, and they were never out of anything. Over the last few months, I'm not sure if management changed, or what, but it's seriously gone downhill. All of the staff except 2 of them are so incredibly short and rude whenever anything is asked regarding adding more or less toppings, getting stuff from the back, or literally anything above them standing their doing the bare minimum. My wife hasn't even gotten the things she likes on her pizza because no matter what time of day we come in, nothing is stocked or they just tell us they are out. I don't normally complain as I've worked in fast food, but this has happened the last 4 times we've gone in. I really hope they do their best to try and change how they handle customers and the hygienic condition of the restaurant. This time there were at least 6 people in line. Two workers were there yet one was being forced to help customers alone while the other worker hid in the back and left him alone even though he was obviously new. I'm tired of coming here and being 100% disappointed. I may start driving 2 cities away just so I don't have to deal...
