I'm a WA native with a lot of family in UT. I grew up with Red Robin, and even had my first date with my wife there. My parents discovered the original location on Eastlake & Fuhrman in Seattle when they moved to Seattle from UT in the 60's for grad school and they were delighted when they started building out and franchising in the 80's.
This review is about Red Robin in general but the issues exist at pretty much all the locations, including this one. The last time I ate at this spot was nearly 30 years ago when they were pretty much the only Red Robin in UT. I ate at RR almost weekly back then. The quality of the food back then was generally great. Unfortunately, they are owned by a large corporation and have been for awhile and I'm sick of the ups and downs. There was one other point where the quality of the food went down significantly but when patronage dropped, they course corrected and were good again for a few years.
That ended a couple of years ago. They've tried to change their presentation and look and are even selling pizza now. Maybe they should be focusing on the food items that made them great to begin with because that stuff is terrible now. They dumped the A1 Peppercorn burger, which was my favorite and the favorite of many of my friends. They have played with sizing and different grades of meat. I really only eat there once or twice a year now when I'm with people who really want to. I have a hard and fast rule that I'll accept reasonable price hikes but if you diminish the quality or size of your offering, I'm out. If you do both, I'm out and I don't like you anymore. They want me to pay around $20 for the Monster Burger I used to get for $6.50 when I was young and it doesn't even taste even remotely as good. I assume that corporate cost-cutting is responsible and they've been tinkering with the recipes and ingredients to the point where I'm now eating a copy of a copy of a copy of the original. Their food just doesn't taste good any longer and neither my buddy who I was meeting or I really got halfway through our burgers. The service was fine and the ambiance has what it's been for at least 40 years. I got my hopes up when there was an actual wait to be seated. I haven't seen that in awhile, but to be fair, when once a week turns into once a year, you're working with less data. The bottom line is, the food just doesn't taste good any longer. If they could maybe dig out the original recipe book and go back to that, I'd go back to eating there regularly but otherwise, I'll drive past RR...
Read moreI'm Ashley and i used to love working at this Red Robin. I truly enjoy serving, (over 14+ years experience) and the guests at this location. Unfortunately we have a new GM Dylan Schnieder who wrongfully harassed me into self termination the day before my birthday 3/22/25 and also before honoring the bonus for the most google reviews. Which i would have won and had pride in helping him, and our restaurant in our goals. I never called out and was never late (maybe twice, in 2 years) Dylan allows servers to knowingly smoke weed during shifts to gossip with and allow managers to engage in hostile work environments by allowing and encouraging bullying. He allows managers to talk badly of servers to other servers, which is very unprofessional and only adds to the hostile environment. Especially since they are under the influence when gossiping. A few new servers quit on site for bullying behavior and Dylan was aware and yet did nothing but laugh. The kitchen caught on fire Saturday night March 2025 during business hours and Kenny burnt his hand trying to put it out himself. they refused to inform guest, make appropriate calls or close the restaurant. I was told to delete any and all footage and when i tried coming to Dylan about my concerns over treatment and my concerns he retaliated against me He regularly texts and gossips with girls who he finds attractive (Abby, Brinley, and Keke) and refused to see my value or worth rewarding his favorites with time off, allowing to be late almost everyday (Keke) and punished those who have integrity. I had loved working for James Small our previous GM and i never had any issues until Dylan stumbled into this role. I am so grateful to be removed from that toxic hostile work environment where there is no teamwork, or respect. Even writing this review, I fear personal retaliation. Luckily I have witnesses who experienced the same and have documented everything. Dylan you should really familiarize yourself as a General Manager, of EEOC laws if you are not morally able to respect your employees (and not just the ones you like) regardless of if their views and opinions are different from yours. You do not have to personally like someone to treat them with respect; and especially not bully and harass them. It is...
Read moreThe positive of this restaurant is that it has a good variety of hamburgers. The downside to this location however is the staff, lack of ability to make a reservation for larger parties, no sitting inside to wait for your seat. It’s not that they have created physically distanced spots to sit, they just straight up make you wait outside. This is NOT a good location to have a group dinner. As they do not make reservations for larger parties their only option is to have a member of the party come several HOURS early to hold your place. We went to this location with a party of 20 (tried to make reservations, but they would not allow it). We were quoted a 2 hour wait. I am not sure if this location just does not want to handle large groups or if they are not equipped any longer to handle large groups. With a 2 hour wait, you will have people who have not even decided yet to eat out be able to come, get seated before your party, eat and leave before you are seated. The staff does not seem to care about seating large parties. For some odd reason there is 3 hostesses that mainly stand around and do nothing. This location has also been know to get to go orders wrong and to not included sauces with to go meals. If dining at this location any time within an hour to closing it is highly recommended you ask what options are and will remain “bottomless” for the duration of your visit. We paid extra for zucchini fries, got the original amount (which is based on weight so don’t expect many) when we asked for more zucchini fries we were told that part of the kitchen was closed and no more would be made. This location obviously has a lack of customer service training and don’t expect the management to exceed on their customer service skills either. There are many other hamburger restaurants within a 15 minute drive to this restaurant. I would suggest ANY of them. Try Burly Burger at the mouth of Weber Canyon, they have friendly staff and...
