Taste of India — Restaurant in Layton

I can't leave a normal review for my single FAVORITE RESTAURANT OF ALL TIME, so here's a little scenario, lets say you just got out of an appointment, you are hungry and thirsty as you haven't eaten or drank anything in HOURS, and now you are thinking where am I going to eat? "You know what maybe some Indian food could hit the spot let's pull in here" so you pull in, get out of the car and walk towards the doors, as soon as you open the door you are hit with the smell of India, with the Garam Masala, the ginger, the spices, the tomato, the onions, peppers, and searing meat, your mouth is watering at this point cause you can almost taste it, you meet the hostess at the counter who is just so nice and kind, you honestly feel like you know these people that work here, then you order. And as you look at the menu you see something you might have seen everywhere, Chikka Tikka Masala, only this is not your average Chikka Tikka Masala, this is THE BEST Chikka Tikka Masala you have ever had in your life, so you order it, and they come back with an ice cold glass of water for everybody, Delicious, refreshing ice water. And they take your order, take your menus and head on back, and 10 minutes later they bring out a ton of food and it is AMAZING, one thing is that if you get the Masala you HAVE TO GET THE ONION NAAN!!! We checked the reviews for this restaurant and decided it was great enough to eat at. The service was pathetic and the employees are extremely rushed and incompetent. We had to wait close to 15 minutes before we were given a table. While that part was fine, the lady at the front gave us no indication about how long the food would take beforehand. We sat down and overheard one of the employees talking loudly with another employee, and they both seemed annoyed at the crowd size. We overheard a nearby diner asking an employee whether the naan they were just served was burnt or not, and she went back to grab fresh naan. After close to 20 minutes of sitting down, we were finally asked to give our order, and the person asking us this told us our food could arrive between a 45 minute average up to over 90 minutes. That is when we decided to leave.

In general, this restaurant has no concept of load management and cannot balance online orders with in-person dining. Their employees are clueless as to the situation at hand and cannot communicate properly. I have no idea why this restaurant has such good reviews; the service is absolutely horrendous. I would never recommend this place, and anyone considering should avoid if they don’t want to waste 2 hours on food that seems suspicious at best with management that lacks...

Aloha world! This was our first time at this restaurant and I must say as first timers from Hawai’i our experience was nothing less than amazing. From the restaurant atmosphere to the staff and their excellent customer service and food exceeded our expectations. Hilary served us tonight and she made it such a fun experience. Her humor and amazing service is just top notch. Must I say more?!?! Katrina and Jennifer were amazing! They both checked on us constantly while Hilary attended to other customers but always made it back to check on us always. They all made sure we were happy and satisfied. Our guy Brian made sure we were fed well and he did not disappoint. Let’s not forget about Rick! Thank you so much for everything! It was great to meet you all. Thank you all so much for the wonderful experience. To the world We recommend this wonderful place. This Ohana is full of love and Aloha!
