Kelley's Country Cookin' — Restaurant in League City

A WASTE OF MONEY & TIME: I rarely consider leaving a review and would normally let a situation slide but the lack of food quality & level of customer service at Kellys is consistently going down hill which seems to be notably consistent with reviews over the past month as you read through Google reviews. My Morning started off beautiful until I went in to pick up a breakfast order at Kellys in League City. This first began w/making several corrections w/the seasoned lady who was taking my order over the phone only to arrive to more confusion. An order that should not have been any more than my expectation of $8.99 + tax turned into $18.99 in which I understood was corrected during the call. Clearly, it was not because upon my arrival....the order total was now $15.99 and half of the items I was being charged for was not even in the bag but the order seem to come with plenty of attitude and frustration from the person who was causing the unnecessary situation to begin with. Even after the manager came over attempting to make a correction. The order was still rang up incorrectly. All due to a "lack of listening"!! *What should have taken less than 5 mins to pick up an order turned into 15 mins with the order taker threatening to go into the bag to remove a piece of meat that I was never informed I was being charged for to begin with. To add insult to injury: The same lady w/a now even more enhanced attitude swung the order over the counter into my arms and walked off while I was still speaking to her about the incorrect order and walked away like she was done with me. *After I went out of my way not to make the situation worse for the lady who took the order in front of her manager because its hard enough to keep a job in the midst of this economy. **To top all of messing up my morning with confusion over 2 eggs vs 3; a charge in the order that was NEVER discussed with me and pancakes that I didnt get after I was being charged for: Now the food is cold! The grits tasted like some form of chemical; the eggs were cooked incorrectly and it was the smallest piece of ham Ive ever seen served at Kellys especially for the price charged. The food was not worth the experience and waste of time I experienced not to include the time it is taking to write this review. {I can't take a picture of bad taste} I understand the economy is playing a major part in the increase & changes of pricing but the quality of service should not have a TARRIFF attached to it. I guess you have to pay EXTRA for quality customer service as well!! My family and I had STOPPED going to Kelly's because of a couple of previous experiences but this placed the nail in the coffin for me. One of the main purposes of spending our hard earned money in any establishment is for the EXPERIENCE even if the food is bad but the level of customer service over shadows the food experience...it can be overlooked but not when both are in need of...

My husband, sister, and I went here, Mother's Day, May 10th, 2015 approximately around 5:30 PM. We all ordered dessert and drinks. I had Dr. Pepper, and husband and sister had coffee. While drinking my drink with about 1/4 soda left in my glass something weird came up through the straw and into my mouth. I pulled whatever it was out. It was a Shrimp Tail!! I informed the waitress and showed her. She said, "I'll tell the manager, and get that drink taken off of your bill, and also said, you aren't the first person tonight that has had something happened. I don't know what's going on back there in the kitchen" The bill was given to us and there was absolutely no discount. Was charged full price for three drinks and desserts. Manager didn't do anything either when informed. On way home I kept coughing it all back up and got really sick. Thanks to Kelley's after having a great day, they totally ruined it for me!!!!!

I would like to update and add:- I would also like to add I ended up in ER by the next morning broken out in hives and had a severe allergic reaction. To this day my arms are still broken out due to what ever the chemical was in my drink with that filthy slime and shrimp tail that never should have been in it. Because I didn't seek medical care the same night I was told I was basically screwed and called a liar saying that no shrimp tail could come up through the straw.

I've never stepped foot back into this location and never will due to the lack of care and concern and my husband and I frequented this...

Once again this place disappointed me as before two yrs ago. I'll get to the point. I asked the staff if the turkey on the dinner plate was sliced and they said " yes sir" and once again it was cut in bits but not truly sliced. I had breakfast there this morning then decided to have Thanksgiving dinner for myself and my wife. We are both senoirs and were looking forward to having a nice tasty turkey dinner but not today.Also the gravy was watery and mashed potatoes clumpy. I think I had better dinner from my k rations in Vietnam. Okay! I got this off my chest. You live and learn, however needless to say they do have a nice chicken fried steak and good bacon and other goodies. This restaurant is good because of its diverse menu and good old basic American food. Im sure that I will return @ some time in the future but sidestep Thanksgiving dinner. "Here, here a toast so lift your beer to this restaurant that has established itself. Here it is 3 23 and this place reopens Had breakfast with my best friend Ordered eggs with hash brown taters and sausage and it was very good Place was packed being a Saturday But overall pretty dang good. Will be back and recommend. L 02-28-24: today my best friend and I had breakfast and it was great tasting, coffee good customer service absolutely good. As always come ready to eat because of large portions and the food is good ole American...
