I have yet to utilize the app because every time I try to use it it seems there are many menu options missing. However, if it was more insync with their menu board outside then it would be useful. You get points every time you order (just let them scan your phone app) and you then can use the points to get free drinks/food. You sometimes get coupons for free treats on the app, like on your birthday! You can also choose to already have your card linked through the app and essentially just use your phone to pay.
Depending on the day... The lines move very fast! The employees are very efficient and don't get distracted. And your food comes out pretty quickly too! Other days: there will be 2 cars in front of you and the wait time is oddly long. And then the cashiers don't keep very good track of what you ordered and might lose track of what they already gave you. They aren't rude, just overwhelmed. [They have two drive-thru lines on each side of the tiny building.] I suspect something about their computer system isn't very organized... So, it's a 50-50.
DISCLAIMER: The rest of this review is not about the coffee, just the other menu items (I do not drink coffee).
I can feel the potential...! I keep expecting a revelation of "Wow I want to come back here every day", but the food seems like it's been taken from a package, and chucked into a microwave oven. Also, oddly oily. And I'm always still hungry after.
For $22+ you can get: Gouda Cheese and Bacon Egg Bites (2), Tomato and Spinach Egg Bites (2), Hot Cocoa (SMALL), Peach Smoothie (SMALL).
The Egg Bites are smaller than I was expecting. I'm still hungry after eating 4 of them.
The Cocoa is too sweet. There's not enough CHOCOLATE taste. There's also a hint of coffee which makes it gross and bitter. It IS drinkable though. If you're hungry it's not bad, but it will not fill you up and you will still be hungry after. (And may have a bit of a headache/stomach ache from the over sweetness). The Cocoa also doesn't stay hot for very long, but that may because they don't hand it to you burning hot like other places do, so that's good at least.
The Smoothies are very sweet. I tasted more artificial peach syrup taste than peach taste. I don't think they use real peaches at all? The consistency is very smooth, very cold. But the straws they give you are the normal Fountain Drink straws and they're not quite up to par to suck up the thick smoothie; it's doable,...
Read moreEdit: time as passed since my original post. The customer service is good now, but the almond milk iced drinks always come chunky and it's disgustingly unappetizing.
Original: The manager at the Leavenworth location, Morgan, is unprofessional and lacks basic customer service skills. I always order the same drink, essentially - a large hot latte with some form of sugar free syrup, almond milk, and no foam. I have ordered no foam every time and receive well over an inch of foam more often than not. I have 3 years barista experience, 2 of which are from working at Scooter’s, so I know this is unacceptable. When I call to complain, Morgan is rude, essentially tells me they can offer me a free drink (which for me, it’s not about free drinks and I have declined this - for me it’s getting what I ordered and paid for) but they were “busy, so...” - her exact words every time I have called to complain. Instead of talking with her staff to fix the problem, she also tells me it is MY fault for not checking the drink before I leave, which is ridiculous because there are typically cars waiting, since I primarily go in the morning before work or on my way to class; she also tells me it is my fault for not coming right back, which is also ridiculous because Scooter's prides themselves on quick service times and efficiency. This morning (11/20), Morgan took my order - by now I am sure she is familiar with me and my drink, because she was not very cordial at the window. I ordered almond milk, paid for that almond milk (I know the price of my drink with and without almond milk, it is primarily how I know they got my order right since they rarely read the order back to me), and what I received was obviously not almond milk; I am severely lactose intolerant and have spent the past few hours completely sick. This is unacceptable and I do NOT recommend this location. I am infuriated, and will recommend to my friends, family, and aquiantences that they ought NOT go here because of the lack of professional customer service and at the risk that they get something that could make them sick when they EXPLICITLY...
Read moreCouldn't order a ‘day dreamer’ ahead of time on the app... So I had to wait in line for 15-20 minutes around 4:09 pm... As soon as we pulled forward to the window we were greated by a rather charming young gentleman who confirmed my order gave him by shaking his head to as he gathered the change he owed me. Order was “one large hot day dreamer” … I was charged $6.15. And a few minutes later he brings me a large blended vanilla frappe thing with whipped cream. I informed him that it was supposed to be hot, but like everyone else in the coffee shop drive-thru we Al usually have somewhere we need to be... The kind made apologized kind of and then said he could Re-make it and waive it back and forth while trying to turn his body back and forth from the window to the machine and I had to stop him and grab the freezing cold beverage and tell him that I don't have time to wait another half hour for 20oz of milk and espresso. It would have been nice, if the offer to refund my money or give me a free latte coupon/gift card to make up for the $6.15 I had to throw away and the lack of pain management from missing having a drink to take my medications.
