King House — Restaurant in Leavenworth

I've have been to this place a handful of times and eaten their carryout/delivery more times than I can count. If you plan to eat buffet here, dont. It's not very good. I have eaten it one for dinner and it was terrible. It appears food quality goes down from lunch, which I have eaten a handful of times. Lunch can be bearable, and is cheaper than China Buffet (In leavenworth). That does not mean I can recommend it, as I usually feel I'll after eating here. They have recently remodeled and I decided to go back to try buffet. Thinking maybe since they invested some money, they work on quality. I was wrong. Unfortunately quality was about the same, buffet setting looked nicer (they did mostly quit using saran wrap above warming pans for most part finally(which was a food hazard). Only thing I found that tastes good was the crab ragoon, rest wasn't that great, to include rice that tasted freezer burnt. Not sure how that happens. (I should mention the wait staff is usually fairly friendly. No issues there)

As for carryout/delivery, this used to be a different story. I always said buffet was bad, but delivery was good. Unfortunately over last couple years it's gone down hill too. Still get alot of food, but sometimes tastes freezer burnt and doesn't seem fresh. Now I look to other places for carryout delivery.

Would I recommend? No. I would definitely pass it up and go to China Buffet for buffet, and probably order from China King (Lansing) for carryout.

If looking for a better buffet recommendation, it'd definitely be Joy Wok (Independence or Olathe). Best Chinese buffet I've had. Great food selection and...

I love you guys!! I was actually hit by the owner one morning crossing the street, but I could see she genuinely didn't see me, I rubbed my shoulder so she thought I was really hurt, but I jus eat the pain happily and told her not to worry. Anytime I've gotten food here it's been just the way I like it, and I'm picky sometimes, no veggie in my fried rice, they ALWAYS ACCOMODATE!! Well mannered and all around lovely people. Food is as genuine as American Chinese cuisine gets, comfort food. And I wouldn't have it any other way. I think they even hooked us up christmas or christmas eve.. always made with love, just be patient and happy to order!! I know alot of people in this city stress alot, going n going with no end in site... well next time you get food here, just breathe deep and enjoy the excitement of asking the fam what they want, amd the time you get with them to enjoy the meal. I ask for chopsticks as well so my family learns patient eating habits. THIS is a small business I'll support always. Dinner was great thank you guys!! Went there yesterday with my boyfriend for dinner. He walked in before me to order our food. When I came in he told me the waitress was hitting on him and seemed upset when he told her he had someone else eating with him( we laughed it off). She came and gave him all the attention getting him a refill and asking how his food was. She finally towards the end of our service refilled my drink. She was quite relentless with him. I went out to my car to get something and she rushed to him asking if I had left him. While we were heading out she had to stop him and ask him if he was from Leavenworth and how she worked two jobs, giving him information about herself that he didn't ask or care for. It doesn't bother me when a woman hits on my man (we don't get jealous of each other because we have a strong relationship). What bothered me was that we were spending money in an establishment that had an employee that was very unprofessional, had zero respect for a relationship, and didn't give us a dine in experience we wanted.
