Recent visit review 12/7/23: So we've tried to give this location a chance over and over again because we'd had such great experiences in the past. Yesterday took the cake. I called in and ordered a "To Go" order.
My exact order was Sedona Shrimp Pasta add chicken, Thai Wings (all flats) fried crispy with extra sauce (all sauce on the side), House salad with white cheese and blue cheese crumbles as well as ranch and blue cheese dressings.
Got home and very few things were correct. My salad didn't have both cheeses on it, the wings weren't all flats and they were swimming in sauce so they were soggy and gross, my husband's pasta didn't have chicken.
When I called in to discuss the issues with the order, Nicole (the manager?!?) Got on the phone. She never apologized for the issues with the order and had the nerve to say she helped make the order so she KNEW it was correct. Well she contributed to the order being incorrect. So I can see the issue is from the top down. I'm not going to argue with anyone especially when I'm the customer and spent over 50.00 for this order and I tipped. I just informed her I'd like the GM, Chris to contact me, whom I have yet to hear from.
When I stated that I wanted the GM to contact me, she began to ask me what she could do to assist. I gave her the opportunity to make things right from the start and turn the experience around for me as a customer, but she was condescending and rude, giving all vibes that she wasn't even interested in helping.
I hate to do this but steer clear. The quality, food, management and lack of value for the money just isn't worth it. Please see pics attached.
Update 12/18/23: The General Manager, Chris Brown contacted me. He was very personable and offered what I felt was a sincere apology for the issues we've had at this location. I'm satisfied with the actions he took to resolve my most recent concerns.
My original review two years ago: Visited Houlihans today and was helped by the most AMAZING waitress, Abigail. Her customer service was stellar and she was extremely pleasant and down to earth. She was knowledgeable about the menu and assisted us in making selections that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. It was such an incredible experience that we shared it with the manager, Nicole who was equally pleasant and appreciative of our feedback. Abigail provided one of the best experiences we've ever had at Houlihans - hands down. Next time you visit request Abigail and show her your appreciation. She definitely left a lasting impression on both my husband and I.
Update as of: 3/23/23 The atmosphere and quality of customer service at this establishment has changed drastically and not in a good way. My husband and I ordered take out from here the other night and were greatly disappointed with the customer service experience. The order was incorrect so we had to wait on top of the 20 minutes we waited to pick up our order initially.
When the order was brought to the front the lady wasn't pleasant, didn't smile and didn't thank us for our business. She directed me to the bar to pay. When I went to the bar to pay the bartender Aspen was flirting with a guy at the end of the bar and putting up liquor bottles. She saw me numerous times in the at least 10 minutes I waited and never acknowledged me standing there. I happen to turn around and see another man who was waiting on his food paying for his order at the hostess desk where he received the food and was instantly infuriated. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, by the way.
I walked over to the hostess desk and asked why I was made to go to the bar when payments were being taken at the desk. The manager, Nicole never answered and said "I can take your payment here." I mentioned my experience at the bar and got a blank stare from the manager and an insincere "sorry".
The food was decent but not as good as before and honestly this was a "go to" for us but I'm strongly considering taking it out of rotation. I definitely can't recommend this place at this point without some major...
Read moreI had heard good things about this location but after a bad experience I had posted an earlier review since my wife didn't want to go back to this one ever again. Our bad experience wasn't in the restaurant itself but because they couldn't seat us for happy hour (even after offering to take us to our table and then saying that it was already taken).
However, I wanted to post an updated review because soon after I posted about our bad experience, I got an email from the manager who was very apologetic and asked us to give them another try. I liked the fact that even though I was willing to let it go and said that perhaps the receptionist at the desk was having a bad day, the manager insisted that this should never happen no matter what.
Long story short, I convinced my wife to go back again and this time they were able to seat us at the outside patio during happy hour. We tried many of the happy hour food specials as well as draft beer. Now that we have had a chance to actually enjoy their happy hour, I must say that it is indeed one of the best in the area. The famous Houlihan's Shrooms, spicy chicken and avocado eggrolls, crunchy spicy cauliflower, and the char crusted ahi tuna were all wonderful and delicious. My wife had a mojito while I had one of their $4 craft beers on tap. All in all, we had a wonderful time.
The outdoor patio is great and we would highly recommend anyone to visit this location for happy hour. Note that the happy hour specials are only available for patio seating. But with nice fall weather coming up, who wants to sit inside anyway. Also, their happy hour extends until 7 pm, which is an added bonus for us since most of the other locations in the area only have happy hour until 6 pm. We are so glad we went back and our sincere thanks to the manager who contacted us. These guys know customer service...
Read moreOne would expect that, after being informed of all the positive aspects of Leawood, the service received would be nothing short of exceptional. However, regrettably, this was not the case. Typically, my family and I frequent the Houlihans establishment located off 95th street near the mall, as they consistently provide outstanding service. Nevertheless, we decided to give the Leawood location a chance, considering its proximity to our residence. Unfortunately, this proved to be a grave error on our part. Firstly, upon being seated, a server inexplicably opened the patio door directly behind our table. It is worth noting that I am currently seven months pregnant, and the weather outside was both cold and rainy, with temperatures not exceeding 61 degrees. This was the first cause for concern. Secondly, an exorbitant amount of time elapsed between each course, resulting in an unacceptable delay in the delivery of our food. To make matters worse, we were not even offered refills during this prolonged wait. Furthermore, the burger I ordered was prepared well done, despite my explicit request for it to be cooked to a medium well temperature. I dare say that I could have obtained a superior burger from a Chinese takeout establishment in Oklahoma. The level of service provided was below expectations. I must express my deep disappointment. Furthermore, my husband typically selects the Sedona pasta, which unfortunately arrived at our table in a cold state. Yes, indeed, it was served cold. This turn of events left me quite astonished. It appears that the quality of service and food may vary depending on the specific Houlihans location. Regrettably, I must conclude that the Leawood location did not meet our standards. I would advise against visiting this establishment if you seek satisfaction during your...
