Visited Sunday, July 16, 2023 My husband found this GEM 💎 on Google maps days before we visited KC. The reviews and pics posted, it did not disappoint! Upon arrival, we were greeted by the lovely hostesses who were dressed in their Sunday best! 👗 It was looking busy and I thought we’d have to wait the entire 15 minutes after we signed up for their online waitlist but to our surprise we only waited a minute or two. We were enjoying watching Wimbledon🎾 in the flat screen at the bar. Once seated we were greeted by our waitress. Sadly, I cannot remember her name. Didn’t take my memory 💊 this morning. But she was really nice and exceptional service! Our order: to start we ‘drank our vitamins. I ordered the Urban Beet (see image) and our daughter ordered the Ginger Splash. I tried the GS and it was delicious. And had a pretty carrot peel as garnish. You could certainly taste all the ingredients. Same with mine but heavy on Beet. So unless you like beets, try another. I enjoyed it. Next, our brunch meal: my husband is a minimalist when it comes to his culinary experience. Let’s just say, he stays in his box. Which is 👌. He preferred a stack of buttermilk pancakes (see image). Nothing more. They were good. Big and fluffy. Quite filling. Our daughter presented the Blue Corn Huevos Rancheros. You got a choice of protein and how you like your eggs and chili sauce. And potatoes hash. Beautiful presentation. Of course I had to try it and it was yummy. Last but not least, my order was the Breakfast tacos (3g with choice of protein. I choose portabello mushrooms. The portion was just right! I ate all of it bc they were scrumptious! All our meals came in a timely manner. The atmosphere was energetic and friendly. It certainly didn’t lack for presence of patrons and wait staff. The environment was tastefully decorated and clean. And everywhere I looked the meals that other patrons ordered looked delicious! Wish I had the time, money and appetite to come back to try it ALL!!! Overall:...
Read moreI researched breakfast places in the area and stumbled upon this place. Wasn't sure how it would be because it still seemed pretty new but decided to give it a shot with my husband. Since we were coming the Saturday after Christmas, I was expecting it to be packed with mediocre service.
We got on a waiting list through yelp before we even arrived, however, and it went surprisingly smooth and quick (although we arrived at 9:15am which was probably before the big rush) We were seated immediately upon arrival by a cheerful hostess who even recommended some things on the menu as she seated us. Server was pretty attentive but seemed a little busy. Wasn't a big deal. For appetizers we got bourbon bacon which was pretty good but could have been crispier. My husband got a cocktail which seemed a little strong for the morning but I guess thats just personal preference.
I ordered the chicken and waffles and it was probably one of the best chicken and waffles I'd ever had. The waffles had little sugar chrystals in them and the eggs Benedict had a nice drizzle of yolk. The hollandaise tied everything together very beautifully. I only gave it 4 stars because my husband and I weren't that impressed with the biscuits and gravy. It was kind of mediocre and nothing really stuck out as amazing. Not bad, though.
It was a little pricey but it seemed good for what you get. I think it was better than/ comparable to First Watch for the price. Overall, the atmosphere was kind of fun and unique with all the colors and interesting artwork. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We were even asked if we had any allergies, which my husband did (peanut). Kitchen looked pretty clean. Seems like a well managed facility. I think I'd come...
Read moreOur first visit took place on a Sunday morning -- we got on the waitlist in advance due to the very well-deserved crowds. The waitlist ETA got expanded, but that's not a deal breaker; just means they're popular! SERVICE: Our server Clementine was cheerful and helpful and well-informed and all-around great! All the staff seemed happy and energetic. The man (manager?) with the hand-tailored coffee-themed blazer had a terrific vibe, and the ladies at the front, checking us in, were quick and efficient and cheery. FOOD: My breakfast partner reported positively on the Greek Omelet (and ate every crumb). I had eggs and corned beef hash and sourdough toast. All delicious, and Clementine nicely let me order the hash without the jalapenos. It wasn't the minced hash you might be thinking; the corned beef is in fairly big shreds and you get a fantastic mouthful; just hits the spot perfectly if you're hungry, which I was. I didn't eat all of the chutney, but it was a nice touch, a good, sweet counterbalance to the savory beef. I took off one imaginary half-star for Food only because my eggs, ordered medium-well, arrived with pretty runny white and yolks, but I'm flexible so no big deal. (I just like them the other way.) I must mention the coffee, which they get from the Roasterie, was delicious and nicely re-filled when needed. We each coincidentally got our favorite color mug, which I take as a sign that we should come again when we're in the area! p.s. ATMOSPHERE: Others have mentioned the noise level, but it was pretty much as expected during the after-church brunch rush. The space is nice and clean and well-maintained, with nice breakfast-themed pictures and cool...
