We've been driving passed the 110 Grill for years and until recently we just never pulled the trigger to try it out. This was our experience as 1st timers at the location next to Home Goods in West Lebanon.
It was a rainy Saturday afternoon and we could tell they were busy as soon as we walked in, we were quoted a 30 minute wait by the very attentive and courteous host, I didn't catch his name. So we went shopping came back in 30 and we were sat immediately. We sat in a massive booth by the open kitchen which was pretty cool, at least that was my first thought. My wife and I both felt the table top was to high relative to the bench seats, arms didnt lay comfortably flat on the table, we had to literally lift our arms up place them. After about 5 minutes our server Ryan approached our table, very low-key and efficient waiter, he took our drink orders and told us a bit about the 110 Grill.
Our 1st impression about the menu was that it was a pretty typical chain menu with too many options, guess that's why they need 5 cooks plus a manager on the line and one at expo. Which leads me to the earlier comment about thinking the open kitchen was cool as a 1st thought. You've got two managers in plain view of the dining room, the dude on the line was great but the one at expo with his back to us(a bald heavy set guy with two earings) was continuously touching his face, ears, and head without once washing his hands or sanitizing in any way,..freaking unsanitary!! That said we still decided to order and just go for it.
I order the steak & cheese with no onions and my wife ordered the chicken cordon bleu, when she placed her order Ryan asked if she would like her chicken grilled or fried, my wife requested grilled. We both got sweet potato fries and Ryan suggested honey mustard with those which sounded pretty awesome so lock it in, Ryan repeated the order back to us and went on his way to order our meals. Now within say 20 minutes our food hit the table and this is where things got very disappointing. First, we had no silverware which means we had no napkins either, second there was no honey mustard with our sweet potato fries (on either plate), and 3rd my wife's cordon bleu was fried not grilled as she had ordered. Bummer.
After a few minutes we got Ryan's attention and told him about our dining dilemma. He said he misheard my wife but we both heard him repeat the order back, obviously he just punched it in wrong when he rang it in. He apologized and brought it to the aforementioned manager at expo. Although their backs were to us we could see a visible negative reaction from the manager, that should never be the case. When you make a mistake in any business you own it and correct it without any negative vibes, its just bad business and a poor example of leadership.
After say 10-15 minutes the the expo manager brought the corrected order to our table, he didn't say a f'ing thing to us other than "chicken cordon bleu", didnt even make eye contact with us, also zero sweet potato fries and zero honey mustard...again. We know that this has been a challenging year for restaurants and theirs staffs, we know that currently lots of places are overwhelmed, over worked and under staffed, we understand. But come on man, not even an apology from the man who supposed to be leading this team.
Overall this was a disappointing experience and its not likely were going to support the 110 Grill...
Read more110 Grill.. oh how do I begin…. I’ll start by saying it is like Heaven on Earth, a place ripe with life and joy and filled with the laughter and love of all who are there. The second I entered the establishment a beautiful host by the name of Kelly held the door for me. Once i entered she rushed at the speed of light to accommodate me, asking if i had any food allergies before escorting me to my table. As we walked at a medium pace towards our high booth (which was like sitting on a cloud) I admired all of the happy and wonderful customers all enjoying their meals. I sat down and eagerly anticipated the arrival of my waiter who was named Issac and let me tell you… I was not disappointed. He came to me looking as if he was kissed by Jesus of Nazareth, gorgeous flowing locks, no receding hairline and muscles that looked like they were made of titanium. He recited to me a speech of great importance and asked me if I would like a drink to which I replied, “YES PLEASE” I ordered a Diet Coke which was full of everlasting flavor and then Issac asked me if I would like to order food. I was tempted by the many menu options that could all be made entirely gluten free but the Shepards pie from the specials menu had me frothing from the mouth. I also added steak tips medium rare to my dish, Issac was more than grateful for taking my order. After he left I had nearly cried with how excellent everything was, and I hadn’t even received my food yet!! Now… the meal has arrived and Issac with his bulging muscles set my Shepards pie in front of me. It was steaming hot and looked like someone had carved it straight from the 18th century where it was originated. Issac asked me if I needed anything to which I said no. I dived in.. I sobbed as I relished and savored every bite down to the cast iron pan skillet I glanced to magnificent open kitchen and sat in awe watching the chefs craft and display dishes with driving passion. Issac came to me once again and asked me how my food tasted and I practically jumped for joy like I had found one of Willy Wonka’s golden tickets. After I settled down I was asked about desert which i graciously accepted, browsing the menu I found the tuxedo cake which I immediately ordered. As I waited for my desert the general manger Dennis arrived and asked how my experience was and i replied, “well do you have an hour?” We both laughed and shared heart to hearts about this splendid wonderland called 110 Grill. Dennis told me to have a wonderful night and departed as Issac delivered me a delicious looking tuxedo cake which I ate in one single bite. Issac returned once again to lay the bill down and I humbly laid my Amex preferred card gently on the table for him to grasp. After running my card he returned and wish me a wonderful day to which I stood, hugging him and saying thank you softly. I departed on my own accord and as I left I turned to see the entire waitstaff waving me goodbye. All in all, choose 110 grill.. I’ll never ever go anywhere else till my...
Read moreThe best & only good thing about this place is its GF/allergy awareness. I’ve been to this otherwise very mediocre chain restaurant once each in 2 different locations. The interior is bland & uninviting, with shockingly uncomfortable bench seating that makes you feel like you’re being kicked in the back by a petulant toddler on a Boeing 747 (there are tables with actual chairs too, I just happen to have been seated in a booth both times). The wait staff are pleasant and helpful. I should start by saying I now live in a restaurant desert, having grown up in one of the largest foodie cities in Europe, and until moving to rural New England spent 15 years in one of the foodie capitals of the US. So clearly I’m biased, which I realized quite soon after moving & thinking I could rely upon customer reviews to help me find the handful of restaurants I expected to find, like, & visit regularly. But no, the reviews are a dreadful way of identifying good places, because people who live here have no frame of reference & think everything is great. Hence the 4+ average rating for 110 Grill. But I digress… My chopped kale Brussels salad would have been good, but it was overdressed (my fault, I neglected to get the dressing on the side) and the dressing was obviously out of a bottle (not my fault). The seared tuna was diabolically bad and should be taken off the menu. Ice cold, coated in some type of cloying spice mixture, and so obviously not freshly seared I was shocked they would dare put it on a plate and serve it. When I returned it, the manager admitted it had been seared the previous day. (For what reason? Did they think they were saving time?!) It was replaced with what I can only describe as processed grilled chicken. I don’t know what this stuff is or where it comes from (maybe I don’t want to know), but I’ve noticed it being increasingly used in restaurants near me - esp post-covid. It looks like chicken & it has the characteristic grilled taste, but there’s something “plastic” about the texture & taste that I won’t be repeating. My son’s BBQ wings were borderline undercooked. Others in my party said their food was “OK”, and only partially eaten (no boxes req’d): the veggie stir fry over noodles was too spicy (clearly a subjective evaluation) but looked good; my daughter’s pasta with EVOO & parm with a side of broccoli is hard to get wrong. I tried a couple of bites of an Oreo sundae - I hate Oreos so knew I wouldn’t like it from the outset, but wanted to see how the brownie was - meh. Between us, we ordered 2 apps, 4 entrees (including 1 child) and 3 deserts. Soft drinks, but no booze. The bill came to a shocking $160 before tip. It was worth half of that. The first time I went to 110 Grill in another location, I figured it was just a bad location - others would be better. Nope, I was wrong. It’s just a bad restaurant. I won’t...
