If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The store itself is fine, other than the ridiculous lines because the registers keep crashing. The products are great, that’s not my main issue. It’s very clear the management of this store needed way more experience before running this store. I know multiple people who were hired at this store and everything was great, and then management allowed another employee to harass them, even after being shown proof and receiving multiple reports about it. On top of that, the amount of employees that were hired at this job, do not even come close to the amount of employees that are being scheduled. If I had to guess, there are maybe 50-ish employees hired at this store, and from what I’ve been told and shown, only about 20-25-ish of them are actually being scheduled because “business is slow right now”. If business is slow at a certain time of the year, the smartest move would be to STOP HIRING MULTIPLE EMPLOYEES WEEKLY during that time of the year, if you can’t even schedule the ones you have now due to slow business. It’s not fair to the people you hired, who think they will be making money for their children/cars/food/rent/etc..and then just now be out on the schedule for weeks on end, or for LESS THAN 10-15 HOURS A WEEK?! How is anyone supposed to live off of that?! I’d love to know. This store would run much better with...
Read moreCame in last night to look for some end of season deals, particularly on ski socks and gloves. Found the gloves right away, there were only a few left. Wandered around the store trying to find ski socks. Passed by a group of employees just chatting it up with each other and a couple of their friends. One of them made eye contact with me but didn't offer a greeting. Wandered all the way around the store, still hadn't found any ski socks. There was one lone employee actually working and re-stocking near the cashier and I asked her. She pointed to a general area near shoes. As I walked over to that side of the store, I passed another employee who beelined towards the group of chatting employees. At first I thought he was going to break up the chatters, but he actually went to say hello to them.
There were maybe 2 or 3 pairs of ski socks that I found which were not what we were looking for. We paid for the gloves, there were 2 cashiers working diligently.
It's nice that there is a store that pays people to chat with each other, rather than greet/help customers. I thought shopping in store would be better than shopping online, but guess I was wrong. I'll stick to online next time. 2 stars because I really do love Sierra...this was just an unfortunate...
Read moreI've been a Sierra customer for over 2 decades and never had a bad experience until today. I was doing a simple return on a "ship to store" item. Because the store never accepted the item into their system, they weren't able to do the return. Unfortunately, we didn't uncover that as the manager on duty, Ethan, was too busy with an interview and delivery of goods to help both me and another customer. I was told that the issue was either mine (thought I had started an online return) or "big Sierra's" and the solution was to go home and call Sierra customer service. He couldn't be bothered with calling them or getting to the bottom of the issue. I called "big Sierra" customer service and identified the problem. I called Ethan who was very defensive of his previous handling of the situation and reluctant to even apologize, saying, "I would do the same thing again regardless of who it was." Oddest customer service experience I've had in a long time and very unlike Sierra. Disappointed. I asked if the store manager would call me when he's back from vacation and got a very mixed response about whether that would happen. This store probably needs a "big...
