Was very excited to try out this place that had opened locally. Was also excited to read the great reviews. I probably made the mistake of ordering during the busiest time of the week - Friday evening. But I had ordered online and was able to choose a time. Normally other restaurants take online orders with a committed time and they honor it. This place probably just takes orders and ignores the pickup time they promise. I waited an hour and a half for an order of dry noodles and popcorn chicken. in that one and a half hour I saw people far above and below my order number being served. Granted there were some people who also waited with me for a long time. after an hour and a half I could not wait any more and asked them to refund my order. this spurred them into action and the gentleman was very apologetic and told me that my order was ready. it did seem like they had the items in front of them, what they were waiting for, I am not sure. The lady then asked me with an attitude, if I want the food, and I told her that yes, if it is ready I would rather take the food instead of a refund.
The food was just ok, after all is said and done. Service makes or breaks a restaurant, and I want to give them the benefit of doubt. Since they are new to the area, I wish...
Read moreWent last night to get dinner for the family. We've had our eye on this place for a while now but we kept missing the opportunity to stop in. Wound up getting a pretty sizeable order since we wanted to sample a lot of what they had to offer. The wait only took 20 minutes, which I considered impressively quick for such a large order. Everything was absolutely delicious, particularly their pan-fried potsickers. They actually gave me extra as an apology for my wait, and after tasting one fresh from the container on the way home, I just had to stop by and share the rest of the extras with nearby acquaintances, who were all just as amazed as I was by how delicious the food is. I had been worried that the dumplings would just be the kind sold in local asian stores from the freezer, but no, these are in a whole league of their own because I'm fairly certain I saw someone behind the counter preparing them fresh! Also, I must admit that we ended up eating at least half our order before even realizing there was dipping sauce and chili oil in our bag, but that's only because the food was so good, it honestly didn't need it! Definitely make sure to stop by here, I know we will absolutely...
Read moreFirst off, by way of perspective, I came to U.S from Hong Kong and lived in New York City's Chinatown and then moved to Flushing, also in New York City. So that is to say, I know something about Chinese food; both of those places are Cantonese food meccas.
I've always been extremely suspect and judgmental of Chinese restaurants anywhere outside of large cities. By luck, I happened to pass by this place last week and decided to give it a try. And how impressed and shocked I was! This place is great! I had to text my family and friends in NYC to tell them that there was a legit Chinese restaurant in this area. Granted, I only had the beef noodles but it was outstanding. I was concerned that they would substitute authentic ingredients with cuts of meat and vegetables that would be more familiar with rural non-Asian populations. However, they nailed it. My 84 year old mother would enjoy this place.
Like someone else noted, the one thing I would appreciate is that for dine-in customers, they buy some better...
