Shockingly good TexMex!👏 We have regularly (once a month) eaten TexMex in Texas (Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, etc) for 40 years, so we KNOW good TexMex!🤠 The restaurant has a very open design, beautifully done wall murals, and welcoming staff. Although we don’t drink alcohol, it was fun to watch all the delighted patrons as they received their VERY creative alcohol drinks. The owners have put a LOT of effort in to creating wild and festive cocktails that includes lots of smoke (from dry ice) blowing out of various holders; huge skulls, large rubber ducks, etc. The cocktails are also created with several different slices of fruit plus other creative items. This is obviously a great place to celebrate happy occasions. I ordered the ground beef chimichangas and they were literally the best I have ever eaten! Typically, chimichangas are filled with a protein, plus rice as a filler. And usually, it’s just one large chimichanga. I received two smaller, perfect sized chimichangas. The chimichangas were filled with a wonderfully flavored and super-finely-ground beef. NO rice inside, NO filler! The chimichangas were topped lightly with queso. It was served with a perfectly cooked and delicious Mexican rice. My husband ordered the Birria tacos. They were somewhat smaller than we expected, but they were packed full with beef. My husband loved them! My sister ordered a beef street taco and one chicken quesadilla. She loved both of them. The street taco was typical size. The chicken quesadilla really looked more like a large soft taco that had been grilled on both sides and packed completely full, all the way to the edges, with chunks of grilled chicken. My brother-in-law also ordered the Birria tacos and absolutely devoured them!😆 The chips were good and they refilled them without us even asking. The salsa was very mediocre and the only disappointment. All four of us were absolutely amazed at how many different staff members came to our table to see if we needed anything, and if we were pleased with our food. The food came out quickly and it was hot and freshly made. The service was excellent. We are thrilled to have found this great restaurant and we highly recommend it! Footnote: none of us have ever seen a menu as unbelievable as there’s is. It’s a large size, spiral bound menu with thick/heavily laminated pages with lots of photos and it’s literally an inch thick!!! I don’t know how in the world the kitchen cooks are able to memorize such an exhaustive menu of options! Even the bartenders have to have an incredible memory for the huge list of complicated cocktails and many flavors of margaritas!
I ordered lunch online, which was super easy and I picked it up 20 minutes later. Through the online ordering, you’re asked if you want utensils. Even though I checked ‘yes’ they were not in my order. Luckily, I checked the bag as soon as I got to my car and realized there weren’t any utensils so I went back inside and got a packet. The gentleman was very nice and apologized for them not being in the bag.
I ordered the lunch Carnitas which comes with refried beans, rice, and three flour tortillas. It was delicious.
Went back for an early dinner and I tried the lobster burritos made with lobster and shrimp. The lobster is unrecognizable scraps of meat that may or may not be lobster with a couple of small shrimp in it. It did not have a good flavor either. Do NOT recommend that dish.
My husband ordered the beef fajitas and they had a really...
Read moreWalked in and was immediately blasted with loud yelling and drums. Tried telling the hostess that we were meeting a group. She didn’t hear me apparently and grabbed 2 menus. I said again we were meeting someone. So goes, “ok five?” I had no clue what she was talking about and just said again we were looking for someone and walked away to search for myself. Group ordered drinks, my friend and I tried ordering food and were told only drink orders. Ok fine. We weren’t drinking, but we could wait. It took 10-15 minutes to get the drinks plus an additional 15 minutes for the waiter to take a food order…only after he was flagged down. I ordered the choose 2 combo with a chicken quesadilla (add onion and mushrooms) and a beef chalupa. I ordered the cheese sauce on the side ($1.99 per the menu). When the order arrived the new waiter yelled out a quesadilla dish, but it wasn’t mine so I said that. He put it back on the cart. He proceeded to give everyone else their food then looked at me with the same dish and said quesadilla and tostada. Not me. So I’m not taking it. I’m aggravated because by this time we’ve heard the loud drum song at least 5 times at different tables and it’s so loud in there you can’t hear the person next to you. He called our original waiter over and tells him this isn’t my order. The waiter looks at me and says he’s confused, it’s a chalupa…it was a flat hard shell with the toppings on top of it. Maybe I’m confused, but I thought a chalupa was a doughy fried shell with the toppings in between the two folded sides. Whatever. I’ll take it. They forgot my cheese sauce though so my friend asked for it. I cut into the quesadilla and take a bite. Mushroom and onion. It’s good. Another bite. Same thing. I open the quesadilla and there’s no chicken. It’s literally just mushroom and onion. Seriously? I don’t even say anything. By this time I just want to eat and leave. It took over an hour after we were done eating to get the bill! I’m pretty sure another member of our group asked for it too! I get the bill, 18% gratuity added without telling us! Not to mention they charged me $4.99 for the condiment cup of cheese sauce. It was probably 3 T at most! I split the bill with my friend and for the 2 of us it was $43. We got waters. My meal should’ve been $14.98 if they did it correctly, which none of it was done correctly - from prep to bill. They got the street tacos-$15.99. Our bill should’ve been $31.97. What the heck?! Not going back. There are too many Mexican restaurants to choose from to have to have this type of...
Read moreThis was an interesting experience. When we first walked in we were greeted immediately and sat down. If you have taken any time to look at this place you'll know they have an extensive drink selection. As soon as we were sat we were asked what we wanted to drink. We said we needed a minute to look. My friend went to use the restroom before she even sat down. Upon coming back we were asked again what we wanted. We asked for a minute again. I went to use the rest room when she got back and again for the 3rd time in maybe 5 mins we were asked what we wanted to drink. We all felt extremely rushed. We hadn't even settled into our table. I finally said to the server " please give us time to look over the menu. We have never been here and the menu is very extensive." We were all feeling a little frustrated right away. I then quickly noticed none of the drinks have descriptions. Just pretty pictures of what they are with a name. The menu states no exchanges, returns or refund so please read the description carefully HOWEVER there is no description on that menu. You have to specifically ask for a separate menu with the drink descriptions. We decided on our food first which was all very very tasty and then after reading the drinks we decided on drinks. The food did come out very very fast and we were impressed with that. We got the table side guacamole, the Birria pie which was like a Birria Mexican pizza kinda thing and the steak and chicken fajitas. The plate they give you with the lettuce, tomatos, sour cream, rice and beans to accompany the fajitas was EXTREMELY hot and we were hot warned about that so I burned my fingers a little bit trying to move the plate over some. The food runner also was not aware of how close he was holding the fajita sizzling plate to my friend and she was leaning over because she thought she was going to get burned. Overall it's was a nice place they just need a little training with the wait staff. The food was great, I would go again. It was just an interesting experience with the serving staff. I think maybe because it's a newer location and not opened for so long they are working out the kinks. Side note: they have the most beautiful bathroom I...
