Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Leesburg

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED AND I DEALT DIRECTLY WITH WHAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE MANAGER!!! I placed an order online upon completion of my order, the online app said my order would be delivered between 119-129 minutes. Having not wanting to wait 2 1/2 hours for my pizza. I called explained the situation the person on the phone, placed an order and went and picked it up. Once there I noticed that my card was charged 24.50 for my original online pizza. I was told by both workers that that payment would be removed by nights end, so I used my other card to pay my 17 and change for my large pizza. Checked my account today, both charges still appear on my bank statement. When I called and asked for the manager I very nicely explained the situation. She said she could not find on her computer that that 24.50 was charged. I then told her I would be more than happy to go there in person and show her on my bank app that I had in fact been charged the 24.50 in addition to the 17 and change thereby I paid over 35 for a large pizza (most expensive pizza I've ever had) she said it didn't matter if i came and showed her that i had been charged since it did not appear on their ticket or what have you, there was NOTHING she could do. Soooo basically too bad soooo sad. I told her i would call the bank to dispute the charges and she said go ahead. I will be forwarding a copy of this to HQ in hopes of them addressing this issue with their employee and trying to explain the importance and significance of customer service. A wise man once told me, when there are many business that offer the same product the only thing that is going to distinguish you from them is customer service. I can get pizza anywhere and let's face it Papa John's is the most expensive pizza out there compared to others and in my opinion they're pretty much similar in taste...

I ordered pizza and wings, wife is in hospital and after 3 days of hospital food I wanted Papa John's, so I was to meet driver at the ER, I get down there and am talking to security at the door and waiting for pizza, I mentioned to security that I was waiting on pizza, he proceeded to tell me Papa John's had just left as I was getting off elevator and the driver left my food at reception desk, I went and verified it was my order, I never paid for this order, so as I am an honest person I called the store and explained to the guy answering the phone what happened and how I hadn't paid for my order, he was immediately rude and told me they never deliver to hospital without being paid over the phone, so after hearing this I simply said "Do You Want This Money or Not", He proceeded to call driver and was rude to him also cause I could hear him talking to driver apparently on another phone, finally the rude guy says to me that the driver was on his way back and hung up, Now I'm waiting and 15 minutes goes by and I called back same rude guy proceeded to tell me that the driver had other deliveries and would be here soon, I told this guy that now 20 minutes my pizza and wings are cold as I'm still waiting to pay for food before going upstairs, 10 more minutes and driver showed up and was super nice, I even tipped him... I will not use or recommend this store ever again, Papa John's Be Better Do Better, your rudeness and uncalled for attitude lost an honest...

UPDATE! I had to quit patronizing this place because as soon as these great New York style pizzas caught on (from the promo period) they started decreasing the topping quantity so this NY XL size has become sparsely topped and the ingredients no longer go all the way out to the edge of the crust so you’re now getting a medium pizza with a bunch of wasted crust. And even after I informed management, I got the same substandard pizza (6 of them) on three more occasions. 🤨😖😒

Previous review: I give them 3 stars for their original crust pizzas which are just average BUT their XL NY style pizza is really excellent! The crust is every bit as authentically great as I’ve ever found. These NY’s are as crave-worthy as many much more expensive artisan cafes offer. AND for service I have to give 5+ stars because they’re often just slammed and still they show they value your patronage.
