If there was a ZERO star rating that would be too high for this so called restaurant. I was extremely dissapointed and honesty felt "ripped off" by these people.
I called in for a "to-go" order. Asked for a chicken and ground beef combination. I asked the order taker if it included chick peas. He told me NO, only rice, salad and bread for $13.99. Told me that the chick peas are another $2.99. So, my total price for a combination meal with chick peas was well over $17 !!!! Ridiculous. I agreed and figured that I would give them a try. Keep in mind that all other kabob houses in the area for under 10 bucks include rice, salad, chick peas and bread.
When I got there the same guy that took the order hands me a bag and tells me it's $18.73 with tax. Accordingly, I paid him. I decided to look inside the bag and make sure that my order was correct. Upong opening the white styrofoam container I see a small piece of grocery store afghan bread covering 5 ridiculous small, child sized chicken pieces and a thin looking kubideh about the size of a hot dog over rice and some lettuce and half a slice of tomato. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!!! for $18 ??!! So I ask the guy if this is their normal size for their portions and he laughed at me. Seriously! I asked him why was so funny and he replied back that he thought that I was joking. I told him that the sizes that they are serving plus extra for the chick peas is unacceptable and it would not even feed a small child. I replied to him that all of the other kabob restaurants in the area's portions are TWICE the size of theirs and for less than $10. He looked at me and said that I would be better off going there to eat if I didn't like his food or the price. WOW! I looked at him and I told him that I wanted my money back and he refused to refund me by telling me that all "to go" orders are not refundable. What a bunch of BS. WOW, unreal to say the least. I told him that he should be ashamed for being so dishonest. I left the place and went home.
Once I got home I started to eat the meal and WOW! The chicken was DRY and OVERCOOKED. The meat was RUBBERY and had a weird taste to it. The rice was undercooked and the grocery store bread was stale. I tried the chick peas and they were ok. I ended eating the chick peas and bread. The rest of the meal I threw it in my dogs food bowl. Seriously! The meal WAS HORRIBLE! What a HUGE dissapointment. Honestly, I don;t mind paying the $17 for quality food, but this SCAM is ridiculous. I can't believe that they are still in business. I am surprised that the Health Dept. (I am seriously considering filing a complaint with them)hasn't shut them down for seliing stale and nasty food. God knows what type of cleaning practices these people conduct there. More than likely NONE. Beacuse the food that they sell is a JOKE.
Yes, I've taken part of my busy day to write this review in hope that decent people don't get taken advantage of by these marauders. I've also read some of the 5 stars reviews that they have received and obviously it's by their friends and family members. I seriously dont believe it's by REAL INTELLIGENT CUSTOMERS!
DO YOURSELF AND STOMACH A FAVOR. GO TO ANOTHER KABOB HOUSE , YOU ARE BETTER OFF EATING A $2 BURRITO AT 7 ELEVEN!
SHAME ON YOU RED KABOB !!
YOU SELL...
Read moreFor years I have always gone to Dulles Town Center Mall for Kabob. This is the first and last time I buy from Red Kabob. When I entered the restaurant it was dead, not a single customer. I wasn’t greeted by anyone. Instead I was ask what my order was. After I paid, luckily I asked if my order of chickpeas was in the bar. The woman responded with, “No! Because you didn’t order any.” I then proceed to tell her that when I ordered on the phone I was clear when for an order of chickpeas. She then proceeded to yell to the back in her language. Then a man comes out and places a plastic container in the microwave. When I asked why the food was being microwaved they said it’s what they do. I have never in my life seen chickpeas microwaved when sold to me before. When I opened my food the bread is not even the authentic Naan Bread. I’m extremely disappointed. I should’ve gone to Dulles Town Center Mall and not to this mediocre Red Kabob in Leesburg. Not to mention the chickpeas where almost $8 and my order of two weak Kabobs was $40. I’d stay away...
Read moreTotal ripoff. Kids size plate for twice the average price. Couldnt give a 0 star. Got a combination platter, fully covered with black pepper. So couldnt taste anything else. Worst part yet is the amount of food. Will need 3 plates to feel like I had a dinner. Well, I had to go to back home and cook dinner after this experience . What is the point? Right... Extremely small portions. Dont go there if you wanna have a dinner or lunch, but you can definitely have a small " platter" which is the biggest plate they serve as a snack. For $14 before taxes. A Total ripoff . I cant ever finish my plate in other middle eastern restaurants for a half of the price. Never ever again. Dont know how these kind of places are still in business. Come on people. Stop being taken...
