We decided to try Melt Gourmet Burgers on Sunday, February 18th, 2024, around 1:30pm. The reason for it was that per Google, this is the best burger place in Northern Virginia. Maybe the hype and expectations lead to a bit of a disappointment unfortunately. Or maybe it was the choice, 3 x standard cheeseburger + one kid’s meal + chilly cheese fries and a good sized brownie. What I mean by that is there’s a ton of different choices that may have changed our rating but we wanted to compare the standard cheeseburger. Or maybe it was just our very ‘special’ experience. Let’s get to it. First of all the place is so busy that we had to wait for good 20 minutes in a long line to place our order. That wouldn’t be a problem if the rest of the experience was great. Anyway, be prepared for a long line. Now, relatively quickly after placing our order /10 minutes/, they delivered the food to us, still waiting on a table for 4, while standing in the middle of the restaurant. So holding onto our drinks, trays with food in our hands, waiting for someone to see us and maybe move out of their tables to let us eat ours, weird feeling when you hold your freshly made burger on a tray in one hand, your drinks and cups in the other one but cannot eat eat cause there’s no space. After about 4-5 minutes a family finishing their food decided to move out so we moved right in. My wife cleaned the table cause there was no one who was available to do so. Somehow weird but let’s get to the food itself. Please see the pictures for yourself. Looks pretty good I assume. If you’ve been to some gourmet burger places, not restricted to Northern Virginia, then this, again ordering traditional cheeseburgers mostly, is not that special. It’s fine, I would say we generally recommend it but it’s nothing super special. The homemade bun definitely is though! Chilly cheese fries are average. No meat, or hardly to find in the mix. Recap, we have to give it another try to see if the more special burgers make us change it to 5 stars. For now, I think we were very generous with 4.

This place is definitely worth the long drive and would come back to try just a regular cheese burger and not a gourmet burger. 5 stars for 5 reasons 1. I got a gourmet Paris burger ( Paris Burger $14.75 Our Premium Beef Burger, Char-Grilled with Roasted Garlic, topped with Melted French Brie, Balsamic Glazed Red Onions, Baby Spinach and a Smear of Dijon Mustard.) and it was pretty good but not as good as I thought it would be. The patty itself is delicious and I can see why it’s hyped because it’s super juicy! The Paris has French brie in it and Dijon mustard kinda took away from the flavor of the burger. I would recommend sticking to basic and fully experience the juicy, medium well burger! The bun is home made and very different from other buns from other places. The bun is soft, chewy and texture is just right! 2. The fries and onion rings are phenomenal! Crispy fries and unique flavor to the onion rings! Definitely a buy! So much for what you pay. 3. The prices are super affordable and very reasonable. 4. All graituity/tip is donated to the animal shelter which is really awesome! 5. The restaurant is clean and atmosphere is good. Clean bathroom.

Melt is definitely worth the hour-long drive and the tolls for me. The burger was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their homemade sauce is outstanding. It goes perfectly with the burger. It was easy to place an order on their website. The burger was ready within 15 minutes as advertised. I wanted to eat half the burger in my car and the other half when I got home. That didn't happen. It was so delicious that I devoured the whole burger in 10 minutes while sitting in my car. The meat that Melt uses is top-notch, but the fresh bread and the way the bread is made are what make the burgers so good. The amount of bread and how the bread almost melts into the burger yet keeps the burger from being too messy and hard to eat is perfect. Many restaurants really fall down by using the wrong type of bread, whether too thin or thick. I had a terrible burger in DC earlier this week that fell into this category. The bread was way too thick and it wasn't fresh. It completely ruined the burger. I'm glad that I finally made the trek to Melt. I had read nothing but good reviews. It definitely lived up to the hype for me.

This is my 3rd time here but 2nd time eating a burger. I believe I said this once before. They just need to add a little freaking salt to the patty itself! Everything else is good. I had the Caprese Burger and my friend had the Fire Roasted Green Chile Burger. I personally like how all the ingredients collided with one single bite of the Caprese Burger. Especially Basil and I love basil 😋. But I got to tell you, the meat just has no taste. I took the salt shaker and put it on and then took a bite. That bite was scrumptious. They win all kinds of rewards for best burgers and top ranked 7 burger in the US and/or on Trip Advisor but come on, most of yall ranking must have no taste buds. I believe the rankings has to be because of its unique approach and vast options. If Melt Gourmet Cheeseburger added just a pinch of salt, not even pepper, they would go from top 7 ranked to top 3 EASY. I will Not give this 5 stars until I taste salt on their burger!! Fries are great until they get cold so eat them fast...

I could probably go ahead and call it the best burger I ever had, period. Let's elaborate on this: Location - this is not a fancy Michelin winning place (gladly), but Melt's has just the right atmosphere for a burger joint. You order at the bar and get served at your table, simple and easy. Service - everyone, from the cashier ant the counter to the guy who brought our food was nice. A plus for that. Another plus, they pay they're employees a decent salary so they are not reliant on the customer's mood, which I like a lot. You can tip though for a social cause. Food - the main attraction, simply just good. I had the regular cheeseburger with onion rings and fries alongside a double chocolate peanut butter milkshake. The burger was on the spot, super juicy and I could taste the fresh ingredients. Fries were good, but the onion rings were great! Topped off with a real creamy and icy shake. At the end it is the whole experience and that was great. I will definitely come again and again and again...

I've been to Melt many times, and am usually very happy with the experience. Tonight did not live up to my expectations. First, their take-out service needs some improvement, as a bag comes out, no one says the name of the person picking it up, and so it sits until someone comes over, asks if people are waiting, and then starts reading names of bags that are ready. The 4 minutes my food sat there does not explain the following issues with the food: 1. The onion rings were soggy, instead of the crispy rings they have had in the past. 2. The fries and onion rings were not enclosed, which means they were cold by time I got home (I live 1 mile away.) 3. The hamburgers were great, until I found a piece of paper in the middle of the cheese. I think it's a cheese separation paper. I've added a picture. The paper sitting above the half eaten burger was found when I bit into it. I hope this was a one-time bad experience and not a decrease in their overall service.
