We decided to try Melt Gourmet Burgers on Sunday, February 18th, 2024, around 1:30pm. The reason for it was that per Google, this is the best burger place in Northern Virginia.
Maybe the hype and expectations lead to a bit of a disappointment unfortunately. Or maybe it was the choice, 3 x standard cheeseburger + one kid’s meal + chilly cheese fries and a good sized brownie. What I mean by that is there’s a ton of different choices that may have changed our rating but we wanted to compare the standard cheeseburger. Or maybe it was just our very ‘special’ experience.
Let’s get to it.
First of all the place is so busy that we had to wait for good 20 minutes in a long line to place our order. That wouldn’t be a problem if the rest of the experience was great. Anyway, be prepared for a long line.
Now, relatively quickly after placing our order /10 minutes/, they delivered the food to us, still waiting on a table for 4, while standing in the middle of the restaurant.
So holding onto our drinks, trays with food in our hands, waiting for someone to see us and maybe move out of their tables to let us eat ours, weird feeling when you hold your freshly made burger on a tray in one hand, your drinks and cups in the other one but cannot eat eat cause there’s no space.
After about 4-5 minutes a family finishing their food decided to move out so we moved right in.
My wife cleaned the table cause there was no one who was available to do so.
Somehow weird but let’s get to the food itself.
Please see the pictures for yourself. Looks pretty good I assume.
If you’ve been to some gourmet burger places, not restricted to Northern Virginia, then this, again ordering traditional cheeseburgers mostly, is not that special. It’s fine, I would say we generally recommend it but it’s nothing super special. The homemade bun definitely is though! Chilly cheese fries are average. No meat, or hardly to find in the mix.
Recap, we have to give it another try to see if the more special burgers make us change it to 5 stars.
For now, I think we were very...

Today my taste buds officially moved to a new zip code — Flavor Town, population: MELT.
My wife and I finally made it to MELT in Leesburg after hearing great things, and let me just say… shame on us for waiting so long. Debbie, the owner (and now part-time head-bopper), greeted us like we were long-lost cousins showing up late to the family BBQ. When I told her it was our first visit, she gave me a playful bop on the head with our table number and asked, “What took you so long?” Touché, Debbie. Touché.
Now onto the burgers… and yes, they deserve their own paragraph.
I ordered the A Jazzed Up Swiss Burger — and let me tell you, this was no run-of-the-mill meat puck. We're talking Gruyère so rich it probably pays taxes in Switzerland, Black Forest ham that must’ve taken a first-class flight in, baby bella mushrooms sautéed to perfection, and a tangy smear of whole-grain mustard tying it all together. Every bite said, “Sir, this is not fast food — this is fine dining between buns.”
My wife had the Paris Burger — imagine garlic-kissed beef topped with brie so creamy it probably auditioned for a romance film, with balsamic onions adding the drama. Let’s just say she stopped talking mid-bite. That’s how you know it’s good.
The vibe? Casual but classy, with staff who treat you like family (the good side of the family, not the ones who borrow your tools and never bring them back).
And yes… in a moment of grilled beef-fueled euphoria, I may have proclaimed myself the Burger King. Debbie gave me a look. I instantly realized my mistake. This isn’t that kind of burger joint. This is a burger experience. Saying "Burger King" here is like bringing boxed wine to a French vineyard.
Long story short — go to MELT. Go now. Go often. And when Debbie bops you on the head, just smile… because that means you're officially part of the MELT...

As a regular at Melt in Leesburg, I can confidently say this place delivers a consistently fantastic dining experience. The food and service deserve a solid 5 stars, while the ambiance earns a 3 – it's simple and casual, but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
Melt has become my go-to spot for spicy, Tex-Mex-inspired flavors. Their Blue Cheese Burger and Lamb Burger are absolute highlights – packed with flavor, made with high-quality, hand-formed patties, and paired with their freshly baked bread, which is always soft and perfectly toasted.
The cheese fries and mac-and-cheese are a must-try for any comfort food lover. They’re rich, cheesy, and utterly indulgent. I also recommend their shakes, especially the Oreo milkshake – a crowd favorite, as noted in other reviews, and my personal indulgence every visit.
What truly sets Melt apart is their commitment to quality. You can taste the freshness in every bite, from the bread to the patties. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making sure the experience is seamless and enjoyable.
