I'm giving Red Bar 5 stars because their food is really good and they are a local business that I will continue to support and want to be successful, but I want to make the ownership aware of the experience I had tonight with their gift card promotion running on Facebook.
It's a Friday evening. I'm scrolling through Facebook. Red Bar is running a FB ad offering a $10 Gift card. We had no plans for dinner... so I click on the gift card, and think to myself, "perfect let's get sushi tonight." We ordered $70 worth of sushi.
I realized that it was odd that my gift card had no way to attach to the order, it didn't generate a code, it just said "show this gift card at the restaurant. (photo attached)
Odd process, but okay... I go to pick up my order and show it to the the gift card message to the server. She didn't have an answer for me so she got another employee who told me that they couldn't give me the $10 off. She said that I should have called them after I placed the online order.
Look at the attached photo, not what their gift card offer told me to do. It clearly says to show it to them. I apealed to her that I was doing exactly what they told me to do. She wasn't rude, but very nonchalantly told me, I could call it in next time I ordered.
It's just 10 bucks, I get it, not a lot of money, but without your FB campaign I wouldn't have even thought about ordering sushi tonight. So the ad campaign worked for you, but not for me. Please think about that and hopefully you will understand why I'm angry enough to write this long review.
Again, I'm giving you 5 stars because I like your food and you are a local restaurant that I will continue to support. Just wanted to let you know how I felt when I left your restaurant tonight... a bit taken...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE! I never leave reviews, but this restaurant was so bad, I had to warn others, especially since there are so many 5 star reviews. Whenever we travel, we love to eat Japanese and Thai food, so we have a lot of experience with this cuisine. However, we paid $95 for a family of 4 to have an awful meal AND horrible service.
Overall, the food was meh to awful. We ordered pad thai, drunken noodles, sushi, and Ramen. My pad thai was so bad, I couldn't eat it. My husband tried it and he couldn't eat it either. It was far too sweet and too heavy on the tamarind paste. My husband said the drunken noodles were edible but "meh" at most. My kids liked their sushi but the Ramen was just "okay". The service was slow and awful. The first server greeted us, gave us water, took our drink order, and never returned! A second server noticed that the first one left us high and dry, so came over to take our order. We waited over 30 mins. for our food while other tables were getting their food and drinks. I had to seek out our second server 3x -- first to ask for my kids' sprites so they could finally get their drinks, a second time to ask her when our food was coming (after waiting for 30 mins.), and a third to ask for our check, so we could put an end to this miserable experience.
It's ridiculous that I had to chase down a server just to get basic service like-- drinks, food, and check!. Our trip to Leesburg has been great except for this dining experience, which truly was the worst part and almost ruined our evening completely.
I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values their time and good quality food...
Read moreUnfortunately, I don't have a good experience with this place. I ordered twice from this place. The first one was with Door Dash. During this delivery, there were several items missing. DoorDash reimbursed me for the missing items. The food that was delivered was actually quite tasty. The second time, I put an order for a small get together with friends through their website. The friend's house is located in Leesburg. The order never arrived. When I called them about the order they told me that the delivery person got into an accident. The person I spoke to offered to send another order if I wanted. The get together was almost over and all the friends were about to leave, so I requested the money (order was over $100) back. The gentleman on the phone assured me that they will credit the payment for the order I never received back. The money were never reimbursed. I called them the next day. I spoke to a lady, she told me she would speak to the manager and call me back. She never called. I considered to drive to the place, but being extremely busy and overbooked with work events, I just decided that it was not worth my time at the moment, unfortunately. But I will never deal with this restaurant ever again. The food is decent based on my only first order, but the demonstrated lack of integrity doesn't build trust...
