I visited early on a Saturday afternoon to grab a bite on my way west. The banner outside advertises a renovated dining area, and from what I saw the changes seem positive. The interior looks both clean and uncluttered. The furniture looks new and more modern while still retaining the wood motif I remember from previous experiences. The variety of two-top and four-top tables, booths, and a communal table at which I sat facing the line tv provide enough seating options for most party sizes. The staff seem to have a good energy, and I was personably greeted by the nice woman taking orders (Monica I believe).
Recalling the memories of eating this fast food growing up in Maryland, I decided I wanted the tastes of my favorites: fried chicken and roast beef. The large roast beef sandwich combo with fries and a three-piece order of chicken tenders fit the bill nicely. My meal took only a few minutes to be ready, and the fixin’s bar largely came through with familiar barbecue sauce, crisp and green lettuce, ripe tomato slices, and small onion rings good for a sandwich. I quite enjoyed the familiar flavors of both the roast beef and the chicken seasoning. The roast beef has a fresher taste than other offerings, and the chicken itself tasted fine. The fries had good texture and taste, and none of my food tasted too salty. My only negative was the temperature of the food, as everything seemed room temperature to cold. I would normally expect the roast beef to be warm and the tenders and fries to be warm to hot. Correct food temperature would have made my stop close to five stars for a quick service eatery.
My bill totaled just under $20 including tax (both state and city in this case). I felt I got a decent value for my purchase and would come to this location again. I will be glad to eat at Roy Rogers when I am next in the area of one and hopefully get the food I like at the...
Read moreVisited the location on Market St in Leesburg VA. using the drive thru.
Purchased the cod platter..2 pieces of fish, coleslaw and mashed potatoes with drink.
Fish was a nice size and well cooked. Even tho the fillets were fried they were in no way greasy and were hot.
The coleslaw was fresh and the sauce was just right...to be honest it tasted as tho it was dressed with a very popular slaw dressing easily found in the grocery stores...but I happen to like that dressing so it hit. It wasn't too heavy so it didn't have that "gloppy" presentation that can occur when applied too heavily.
The potatoes taste instant and not in a good way... least favorite side choice.
I didn't really want the beverage and stated such...asking for no beverage raised the cost $3... when asked why... it was explained that without the beverage my order was no longer a "platter combo" and the items were charged a la cart. ??? I opted to take a bottle of water and the pricing was adjusted to what was posted on the drive thru menu.
The staff was friendly and the fish was hot and fresh tasting.
The fish is a lent only offering...which is sad as it nicely done.
4☆ rating due to pricing policy charging MORE for simply not...
Read moreI returned back to Roy Roger's located in Leesburg, VA off of Route 7 and East Market Street is a humble establishment that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner options with meat selections as sausage, ham, roast beef, chicken. You get the idea. I guess it's a restaurant that has some stability in the shopping center. The facility is not too large, and yet when you're inside, it looks comfy and updated. However, the service and the food are fantastic - and worth mentioning their quick in processing your order. When I received my order, it was well packaged - a sourdough breakfast sandwich with sausage and a side of breakfast fries. The only issue I had with my sandwich was that it was very salty. Nowadays, all should stay away from salt - and if it doesn't help, if a sandwich has enough to notice, it's too much. In any case, I'm sure it was an oversight in the preparation, but I couldn't finish it entirely. I will say that it won't deter me from visiting this location a second time to see if it was just that an oversight, but this remains to be seen. Overall, a quick stop here is not...
