This is the greatest coffee shop I've ever been to. For starters, it's huge. With a fireplace, 6 large leather chairs and many, many tables and chairs, it has become the gathering place that coffee shops were originally meant to be. Aside from a couple of opinionated, entitled, intolerant, grumpy old customers who occasionally feel compelled to voice their dissatisfaction about either the music, the other customers taking "their chair"'(remember, entitled) or life in general, the atmosphere is wonderfully welcoming and conducive to both social conversation and real work being done on laptops by a beautiful diversity of business people and students alike. The staff is truly the best. Their accuracy and speed in their service is second only to their humanity, kindness, healthy sense of humor and sense of fun. I have yet to pick up my twice daily coffee without a smile or laugh. And I've been coming here for many years. They treat EVERYONE with respect and kindness and when faced with asking a homeless person to leave because that person's lack of purchase but use of chair has upset one of the entitled regulars, they instead buy that person a drink with money out of their own pocket. Now THAT is how you treat and keep customers. As a business owner myself, I am truly impressed at how they can serve so many people so fast yet remember the regulars by name and drink. I literally get greeted when I open the door- before I've even gotten in line. I challenge you to find another chain store where this happens. Starbucks could do a case study on how all stores should be run based on this...
Read moreI have been here several times now and every time it is a bit of a disappointment. I order my drink before I leave the house, about 10-15 minutes before I get to the store. And every time I have to wait another 10-15 minutes to get my order, which is a chai Latte and sometimes a croissant. One day I waited for 20 minutes for my food order, and when I asked about it, apparently it was just sitting on the counter in a spot that the employees don't check. I watched the guy I asked pick it up, look at it, and just hand it to me like it wasn't ridiculous. Not even a sorry...and the place was basically empty. It's frustrating to be late to work because someone put your order down where nobody looks and forgot about it. Also, it seems like the drinks come out very slow. On the days I go here before work, I make sure to place my order well in advance and get there early, and I'm still late for work. So I either walk out without my order that I payed for or I am late to work.
On a separate note, idk if I'm just going in on bad days but I have never been greeted when going in, and I say thank you when I pick up my order and I have never been acknowledged. It sounds small/insignificant but I saw several other reviews saying the opposite so I figured I'd put in my experience too.
This is the only location on the way to work for me so I'd need to go way out of my way to find a location that isn't slow...
Read moreApprox 3p, 8/28, four people behind counter, me and one other customer who had already ordered and transacted but, occupying the single open register area, bantering leisurely with the Mgr (?), who only acknowledged me INDIRECTLY after I've already been waiting at the register directly in front of him (where he has been shuffling and chatting the duration of my wait time)... to his co worker at the opposite end, ticking thru tasks yet is able to make eye contact to let me know he is ready to prep my order once the person who has been and continues to be right at the register, by eventually saying "(co workers name who is at opposite end of the register) u can use my register". We looked at each as he worked around yet another co worker to get to the register so, he could ring me up. Despite the lack of courtesy and ineffective communication by the Mgr, he was relaxed, polite, professional and responsive. TY! This place is consistently rude and exhibits courtesy to selective customers. Writing a letter to corporate as it seems to be the culture. I observed this Mgr barking incoherent directives to the other Associates, but a sloppy, less than professional demonstration of multi tasking and customer service. My $7 coffee is not valued, but on principle, I posting this...
