Bonchon was good, but needs some minor adjustments to get my 5-Star vote.
Service and atmosphere was exceptional. The cashier was extremely friendly, helping us to understand the menu and providing recommendations. The restaurant was clean and well maintained for the lunch rush. The service staff was attentive and came to check on us shortly after getting the food.
We ordered the tteok-bokki, six wings with yamyeon sauce, bulgogi fries, and an order of donuts. The tteok-bokki was very disappointing, lacking the spice, flavor, and texture we're used to with Korean food. We found them inedible and didn't finish it.
The wings were tasty with a nice crisp, but needed some improvements. One of the wings had shattered bones, making it dangerous to eat. While the other wings were barely sauced, and they seemed like they had not been cooked recently. The wings would have vastly been improved if sauced more thoroughly, expedited to the table shortly after completion, and minor a quality check.
The bulgogi fries were delicious, with the fries coming out hot with a nice crisp. The value seemed over priced in comparison to the quantity received, and could benefit from a slightly larger portion.
The donuts were by far the best item we enjoyed. Fried, coated in cinnamon sugar, and served with a sweet frosting sauce, these were delicious and good end...
Read moreThe food is terribly bland and excessively oily, primarily because they fail to properly drain the chicken before packing it to go. The residual oil on the chicken emits a strong, unpleasant smell that suggests the oil has not been changed out frequently, indicating poor freshness and quality. The two waiters at the cashier area appear visibly unhappy; they don't smile and display an attitude that makes you feel hurried to place your order, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. This is our second visit to this restaurant. During our first visit, the drumstick was quite good, but the fries were undercooked and loaded with too much oil, making them greasy and unappetizing. Today, we decided to give it another try because we were in the area, hoping for an improvement. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing once again. They didn't drain the chicken properly before packing it to go again, and the oil still smelled stale, as if it hadn't been changed in a long time. It seems this place, along with many other restaurants in Utah, prioritizes quick profits over quality and wholesome food. The entire meal, including the chicken and fries, was incredibly bland, with little to no seasoning or flavor, making it a disappointing dining...
Read moreY’all, this place ain’t it. Took my 2 little kids in thanks to them being obsessed with K-pop Demon Hunters and wanted them to experience Korean food. The food is tasty, but absurdly expensive. Just for the 3 of us, it was $65 and we walked out far from full. Crazy for food that you order at a kiosk.
They also have these bulgogi fries which you can see from the pictures are FAR from advertised. When I asked for a refund for it explaining that it was a way smaller portion than advertised, they acted like I told them to hand over everything in the till. They asked if I had eaten any bites from it and when I said no, they begrudgingly went to speak to the manager. 15 minutes later they told me that they had to call the owner to approve a refund for it. By then, my kids were getting antsy and still hungry, so I told them to go ahead and that I’d just deal with it. The chicken is crispy and the sauces are decent, but we def won’t be dropping that kind of...
