Nara Express — Restaurant in Lenoir

Ugh. I tried to give this place multiple chances and it gets worse with every visit. Last time, I was severely disappointed but we lack Asian options in Lenoir so we decided to try Nara again. We always order online to make it easier on everyone — yet we still wait for our food (ordering online gives you an est wait time and we always wait an appropriate time before even going to pick it up) an obnoxious along of time. Nara clearly lacks in efficiency when it comes to their drive-thru/pickup. Annoying waiting an additional 45 minutes, but whatever. ALSO — * FOOD ALLERGIES AREN’T HONORED VIA ONLINE ORDERING * Tonight, I ordered the soba noodles and steak with a side a vegetables. I got a bunch of plain soba noodles with no sauce, burned cabbage, and about 10 pieces of super chewy steak — some overcooked, some under. Zero flavor. Thankfully I had supplies at home to make a quick sauce for my food but it was SUPPOSED to be made in a mixture of soy sauce and teriyaki. How you neglect to add flavor to your chewy steak and overcooked soba and burned cabbage, I don’t know. My order of side vegetables was tossed in the bag upside down and its liquid leaked everywhere. My side vegetables? Overcooked and soggy zucchini only. Not as advertised. Shrimp in other meals were especially fishy tasting which worries us. Didn’t get all of our onion soups, either. Even the pop was flat tasting. Spent this much money and the food quality is going downhill. I hope this place turns around quickly because I don’t want to lose an Asian option but come on…this was a waste of...

On Sunday 4/14/24 around 4:45ish, my daughter are pulling around to the drive-thru window and there is a young girl stopped with her trunk open as she is digging in it. I give her a minute but she never says anything to me, wave me around or anything, so I go around her to get in line at the window. She starts screaming and I guess she's yelling to the cashier that I went around her because I'm not listening to her since I don't want to engage in an altercation. Instead of the cashier (young, blonde hair/dark skin) asking ME what happened, she goes outside and takes the inconsiderate girl's order!! So she gets her order first while I'm still having to wait because she cried and whined about me going around her even though she was the one digging in her trunk and expected me to wait until she was done!! The cashier should have asked me what happened, not just her!! And then I should've been waited on first! I don't know if these young girls were friends but I could see the cashier behind me at the girl's car laughing and shaking her head. So Nara just lost 2 good customers and then some because my friends won't be going back there either! Keep pandering to these entitled brats that expect everyone to wait around on them and that the world revolves around them and see what happens! I'll give it a 2 bc the tea was good but the food was burnt and on the menu board it doesn't say the flank steak comes with mixed veggies even if it did i wouldn't know what they are but my husband is highly allergic to zucchini and I told the girl that was cleaning tables and she goes oh well it always comes in our mixed veggies I said well thats all well and good but you need to put it on your menubboards that way and she goes well I can get you more veggies without that in it and my husband said no I don't want them she goes well say no veggies bc that's just wasting a bunch of veggies and I said I'm sorry didn't I pay for my food I said If he don't want it bc he's allergic that's his choice...
