We ordered our wedding cake through the Exclusive Cake Shop in San Antonio. My cousin paid for our cake as a wedding gift. I originally ordered my cake through Terrace Cakes but was unable to have it done through her due to her pregnancy (she was set to deliver the month of our wedding). I took a photo of the cake I had ordered with her and asked them to replicate it. I have posted photos of the cake that we received and will gladly share them and any reviews with any bride or couple that is interested in ordering a cake The Exclusive Cake shop. They don't look horrible, but it just wasn't the quality of work that I had originally hoped for. I had requested fondant icing (because that what was on the cake I ordered through the other vendor) and they said it would be an up charge of nearly $500 and that the butter cream icing tasted better and would be smooth. It was smooth but if you look at their grand cakes online, the majority of them use fondant They have beautiful cakes on their website but I was not impressed with ours. They didn't even have a stand for our cake. For paying over $1000, I would think that they would ask you if you would like a stand to display your wedding cake. We would have gladly paid for a rental stand or bought one before hand if we had thought they wouldn't have provided one. A week before the wedding, I received a call from their business inquiring about the flavors in our cakes- these were already chosen in the contract and I listed the flavors for them. They called again and said those flavors would be an upcharge. I was very upset as I had a lot of other things going on and I was prepping for our wedding. I told them I would not pay an upcharge and would pay the quoted price in our contract. They then called me to say that it was a mistake or misunderstanding. The cake tasted great- I'll give them that but when I ordered a four tiered wedding cake to serve 200, I didn't expect it to look so small. Be prepared to save all your paperwork and ensure that you have time to ask them all these questions. I would be very weary when choosing them for an occasion such...
Read moreI waited 15 years to celebrate my only daughterâs quinceanera! Unfortunately, she had a HORRIBLE injury to her foot five days before the event and we were forced to reschedule.
I called the following day still extremely stressed from this traumatic event and trying to make my daughters day special, I spoke with Laura, she told me they would reschedule only if I paid an additional $200. My cake is paid in full and to ask for more money is Ridiculous!!!!! We are dealing with a very expensive event and now a medical emergency causing the birthday girl to be postponed. Laura has ZERO heart for the situation and immediately became defensive when we questioned the new charge?
After looking at the contract, there was nothing stating rescheduling fee prices or percentages. Laura mentioned this is what needs to be paid in order to move the date without any exceptions or explanations as to where this new Amount is going to???? My husband went in person to talk to her clear across town and she told him âthatâs just our feeâ. She said if the $200 wasnât paid sheâd have the cake delivered anyway!!!!
Laura has reflected a money hungry business with zero care for their customers! considering my daughter is suffering a horrible laceration they had no heart, didnât care about the mental health of their First Time customers just wanted money to help pay for her hourly employees (thatâs what she said) It will be our 1st & last time here! no referrals for...
Read moreWent in for a cake tasting With my fiancĂ©, Son and bridesmaid. . Was told they could not try anything up front because thereâs a 2 person rule. Which immediately was a red flag considering they just had a cake event tasting January 10 with MULTIPLE people tasting in their shop. She then handed us a cake plate with plain white, chocolate, strawberry & some fillings. Then said âlet me know if you have questionsâ and began sending emails with her back faced us. The cakes were extremely dry and the fillings were not okay. The experience was not personal. It was not special. They may be use to doing it everyday, so itâs the same thing for them...But for couples, this is their first time. These are the memories of planning their most important day , and this will stick with us. Cakes & More was amazing if youâre looking for a great experience !! They sit with you and really listen, they take pictures of you and give you multiple gourmet flavor cakes and fillings and also allow you to bring guests. With no issue. I never really write reviews, but felt this was necessary. As a bride wanting to let other brides know , if you want a special experience this is not the place. I Notice they only respond to bad reviews so Iâm not looking for one because My experience is not up for debate, as I actually have video recording of my appointment and them working on emails and googling hot Cheetos photos on my phone. Make the customer in front of...
