Small restaurant, BIG flavor! We walked in and were greeted right away and sat atbour table. Our waitress came to us quickly and explained the menu for us and gave us her recommendations! She also gave us a sample of the most popular drinks the Chicha Morada and the passion fruit drink, which were both great.
We ordered a Empanada de Carne and it was super moist and tasty! We only wished the pork was cut or chopped into smaller pieces.
Our entrees were the Aji de Galina. A spicy creamy chicken shredded in a creamy yellow pepper sauce. Served with white rice and three slices of boiled potatoes, and wow, was it delicious! Felt like comfort food from grandma's kitchen! We also ordered the Tallarin Verdes A Pesto sauce Peruvian style pasta served with steak on top! The steak was tender and moist while the noodles were bright and tasty with the abundant pesto sauce!
The restaurant is small, clean, and quiet with lots of regulars, it seemed. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.
We will definitely be back to try...
Read moreI took my mom and girlfriend here for lunch. My mother and I are Peruvian, my girlfriend is not. We tried the ceviche, aji de gallina, empanadas, and causa. The best thing we ate were the empanadas. They had potatoes in them but were the most delicious thing we ordered. The causa and gallina were ok. Flavors were there but not super authentic. The ceviche was the tipping point for my mother. She had a few bites and refused to eat it any more due to how disappointed she was in it. My girlfriend can not eat fish so she didn't have any and I finished the plate because I didn't want to waste the food. The wait for the food was a bit long for how dead the restaurant was at the time we showed up. Fast forward to the next day my mother and I have had terrible indigestion (I worse so than she). We all agreed it must have been the ceviche. Now I honestly won't be coming here anytime soon expect for my occasional craving...
Read moreA friend and I visited this little restaurant on a busy Saturday night. It was filled to the brim with people having a great time and enjoying some of the best food I’ve had in San Antonio! We thought the service would take awhile, but it was very fast and the quality of the dishes was incredible! Beautiful, generous servings of ceviche, and multiple delicious entrees came from the back in minutes. The owner, upon seeing our interest in Inca Cola, went and made us little tasters of custom Peruvian drinks simply because he wanted us to experience the things he loves. I will be coming back to this absolute gem of...
