Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Lewisburg

The first thing I noticed when entering This place it was so cold like a operating room it was so cold that when our appetizers came out they were only on the table for maybe about two minutes and when you went back to get a chip, everything was ice cold when I asked why I was so cold in there the hostess proceeded to tell me they keep it cold in there for the staff because it gets too hot in there for them to work we were there. They’re only about six customers in there in about four employees so it was freezing uncomfortably freezing. It was absolutely disgusting the quality of the food was ridiculous and low quality. Our appetizers the chips were soggy from what I don’t know cause they’re supposed to be tortilla chips. The spinach artichoke dip was very minimal barely had anything in the bowl on the cheese on top was melted, but hard like they overcooked it in the microwave, the loaded nachos were not loaded at all. They look like a scarce vegetarian lunch. There was barely any meat on the nachos at all, and the meat that was on there looked old and clumped up like I’ve been there for a while. Despite the appetizers we try to give the entrées a chance and myself got the 12 ounce ribeye steak cooked, medium with mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, and cheesy broccoli. Well, let me tell you the experience with this dish was absolutely mind blowing from the fact that I couldn’t grasp the concept of how they put queso on top of broccoli that was already steamed and made it 10 times more soggy the mashed potatoes you could obviously tell her in the microwave. The middle was hot. The outside was cold. The steak was embarrassing. It was thin like paper had a bunch of fat cake on it and was not cooked to medium it was tough and hard and rough it wouldn’t even pull apart and it took me forever when I put it in my mouth to chew. I spit it out. Disgusting the macaroni and cheese was absolutely nasty. It is Panini noodles that are boiled too much and is pasty. The cheese is queso and it’s soggy. They said they were bacon supposed to be in it and literally there’s no bacon in it. She said it was shredded in there and there’s no traces of bacon whatsoever in that macaroni and cheese, my husband ended up getting ribs, which we didn’t get told at the beginning. They didn’t have any ribs so we got riblets. They looked disgusting. They were piled up with fat and cold his mashed potatoes with the exact same way his macaroni and cheese. We did order two alcoholic drinks, which were Bahama mamas that were frozen and I don’t even know if they put alcohol in them or what they put in them because it literally just tasted like bubblegum and water. Disgusting I will never go back to this place at all. I do not recommend anybody to go there in the near future, the ratings are definitely true but they should say 2.0 or 1.0. I’m surprised or even a three the staff were a little rude, but the manager that I’m assuming that she was came out and talked to us and we ended up not paying for anything even after we offered to pay something because we didn’t eat any food. We literally took one bite, and that was it. She was very apologetic and was going to go back there and cook the food herself and everything like that but after getting that taste in your mouth, there was no way getting it out. Long wait for food and the quality of food has drastically changed in the last year. Takes to long to get food and then you have to wait almost half an hour to pay your bill once you are done. It shouldn't take more then ten minutes for them to run your card and return your receipt and card .

Update September 3.2022 decided to try Applebee's again the worst experience ever spent 2 hours waiting for food party of five adults and four children two children receive their meals quickly as order then the other child got his fourth child never received her meal until after at least two adults got their meals appetizers came with her meal two more adults got their meal the last adult never got a meal and finally canceled it appetizers came somewhere in the middle children's menus never got crayons even though there were multiple requests for those crayons because of the two-hour wait for food when we complained the manager was brought out her solution was to give us free dessert which she would prepare which probably would have took two more hours we declined I would suggest if you plan to eat at Applebee's in Lewisburg do not sit in Joseph's section.... do not dine there if Michelle is the manager at the time of your service .Absolutely the most worst experience I've ever had McDonald's does better seriously the order that was canceled was for a club sandwich we could have went across the street to Walmart and purchased the bread and meat and made our own sandwich and fed half the restaurant faster than the service that was provided here. Honestly I am so disappointed and ashamed to be a local to this area and have grown up here and for them to claim to be one of the coolest small towns obviously they should have a claim for the laziest non ethical work standard small towns. From now on we will travel to Beckley to eat when we decide not to cook at home. Came into the restaurant and it was absolutely freezing the host has told us the reason it was so freezing in here was because that they were catering to the staff because he got hot in here, but it’s so cold in here that we give her food and by the time we got two chips in our food was ice cold. We got the loaded nachos look great on the picture received them, and it looks scarce like they were vegetarian. There was no meat on them at all was clumped up and cold. I got a 12oz steak and it looks disgusting and it is not cooked right and the steak is poor quality it had so much fat on it and was thinner than paper. Macaroni and cheese is Panini noodles that are soft and tear apart and has a white cheddar in it and they said they have bacon in it and it’s grounded up fine but there’s no bacon in it at all I got cheesy broccoli, and it had queso cheese on it, which made it soggy and limp even more because it was already steamed. We also ordered two alcoholic beverages which was frozen Bahama mama and to be honest with you they had no taste and they were like water. The staff were very apologetic, but we’re not in the proactive stage and trying to do anything to make it better so we quite frankly just went ahead and got out of there we offered to pay for what we needed to pay for and try to get out of there as far as fast as we could, but I will never eat back at this restaurant again it was nasty. It was disgusting. You can clearly see it’s not being managed, right The staff is nice but not clean. Nothing is sanitary.
