Food was bad and bathrooms absolutely disgusting.... We ordered our food the waiters were nice and knowledgeable, food came at a reasonable time. When I went to the bathroom first thing I noticed where the fecal stains on the wall clearly who ever went to that bathroom before me was fighting for their lives. The stains looked old, there was urine on the floor and tissue. After washing my hands, went out to the table where I received our food. My waffles and chicken where soggy and fried chicken even more soggy... The glass I was given to drink out of had chocolate stains mind you I thought I was supposed to be drinking a water. I guess that came with a side of chocolate stains... The two people I was eating with had some problems with their food as well, I will not name for privacy reasons. Person A she ordered chicken and waffles with a side of hash browns the waffles and chicken were soggy but what was most disgusting was how she bit into her waffles some egg yoke came right out of it. She specifically ordered hash browns because she hates eggs so just imagine how that bite was for her....yeah, person B had the same problems I did. This situation was clearly already bad but what made it worse was when we simply asked to get the art projects they where trying to call a meal off the ticket the host has a problem with it, so she decided to trash talk person A who was paying in front of her! Talk about customer service. If you can't keep your emotions under control should you really be working such a high demanding job? Couldn't leave her a tip, we just couldn't the hospitality was amazing at the start so what happened? We get bad food and ask for it to be taken off the ticket? This place place has some reforming to do and clearly needs new management I disgusting piece of Lewisville and would shame me if people not from this town visiting chooses this spot as their first place to eat. We've got an image to set in this beautiful town we call home and quite frankly what they showed at main Street...
Read moreI was greeted properly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and everything started off great. Before ordering, I specifically asked my waitress if the green beans had pork or any kind of meat in them. I made it clear that I do not eat pork. She told me no, not to her knowledge, and even mentioned that she does not eat pork either.
When my food came out, I started eating and everything seemed fine. But as I got further into the green beans, I found pieces of pork. At that moment, I felt completely disrespected. Another waitress came over and told me my meal would be comped and that she would speak to the manager. A little while later, my original waitress came back and told me I would be receiving a small discount instead.
The biggest disappointment was that the manager never came out to speak to me. No apology, no explanation, not even a brief acknowledgment. That showed a complete lack of accountability and leadership.
I do not blame my waitress. She was new and seemed to do the best she could with the information she had. I did leave her a tip, although it was not the generous tip I usually give. It was not anything personal against her, but the situation just left me feeling so violated and unsettled that I could not bring myself to leave more.
I truly believe the responsibility falls on the leadership of the restaurant. If ingredients are not listed on the menu, the staff should be properly informed about everything that goes into each dish. Some customers have dietary restrictions, religious beliefs, or allergies that should be respected without question.
This experience left a bad taste, not because of the food, but because of how it was handled. I give it two stars. Not one, because there were some positives in the service. But definitely not more than two, because the follow-through, respect, and leadership were not there when it...
Read moreThe girl-child and I decided to try this place out because (a) the food looked good, and (b) it opens at 6:00 a.m. Aside: what gives with breakfast restaurants not opening until 7 or 8? It's breakfast, you slackers. Did you know that there's not a single breakfast joint that I could find in Flower Mound (apart from IHOP) that opens before 7?
Okay, rant over. The girl-child is going off to college out-of-state next year so this was the last year of our annual Valentine's Day early morning Dad-Daughter breakfast date. Bittersweet indeed. Anywho, we went to Main Street Cafe because we'd never been there before and everything was outstanding. Even that early in the morning, the hostess and our server were super friendly, and the patrons all seemed happy to be there. Great interior and exterior ambiance in what I suppose is still the Old Town Lewisville area.
The food itself is delicious, though the breakfast menu is relatively small. I got Mike's Special and she got the Farmer's Omelet. Both were outstanding! Service was quick and the prices were decent. My eggs -- which I care very, very much about-- were perfectly over easy. Excellent hash browns and the mushrooms and tomatoes and ham were perfectly grill-kissed.
The alcoholic drink menu was an impressive flex at zero-dark-thirty. We politely declined.
We will...
