Birria Tacos are ALWAYS the BEST at Brother’s & Beer!! 😆 #birria #tacos #mexicanrestaurant #best #brothersandbeer
BIG-DBIG-D
I'm pretty tough when scoring mexican food as this is what I was grown up on, so please don't just take my review. Still worth it to check out. The food is pretty good, I wasn't a fan of the carnitas as they were pretty dry and the beans were really runny. The birra tacos are great and super packed with flavor, definitely a must try! Food is priced good, yet the sides are really expensive. $4.50 for a side of rice is pretty steep, but again it might be a very large portion and I'm just not aware. Service was ok, our waiter was really busy so he didn't really look like he was too happy to be there. The restaurant does get really, really packed, and the waiting area gets crowded. Pretty inconvenient for the people sitting at their tables eating, while you stand over them waiting. Might want to create a seating area by removing 2 tables, just an idea. Overall, I'd give it another try but not a must have for me.

I needed a good quick Mexican meal yesterday and decided on Brothers and Beer in Lexington. I love Mexican but like light meat dishes best. This establishment has liquidly refied beans as a chip dip (which was good) but also has a salsa bar if you wanted something else. I ordered a chlli relleno and vegetable enchiladas which both sounded good. I missed my call on these dishes as the vegetable enchilada was sweet and didn’t have a good taste. The cheese on it and the chili relleno were too thick with thick stringiness and no flavor. The chili relleno had cheese and meat sauce inside but didn’t have a great taste either. I may have ordered the wrong things as they have a heavy meat menu that might be better. I hope the meat dishes are much tastier.

If I could give less than one star I definitely would. I had the most horrific experience at this establishment, it has literally left me scarred. My family and I decided to try it one night as it's very close to our home. We went in and sat down, the server was very sweet so no issues there. We all ordered and the food came out suprisingly quick. As soon as we got our food , I cut into my burrito to take a bit and immediately noticed there was almost no filling. It was damn near all tortilla, and it was a 15$ shrimp burrito , I saw what looked to he 3-4 shrimp and over half was literally just empty tortilla. I don't want and am not paying for a 15$ burrito that is half empty tortilla and 3 pieces of shrimp. I told the waitress my dilemma, she took it back to the kitchen and came back with it and was like do you want it? I said no, I already explained why I don't want (I had assumed she was taking it back to have it remade but I guess the owner told her NO) by the time she came back with it and asked if I was sure I didn't want it my family was done with thier food, so I wasn't going to order anything else as it was late and we were ready to get home. So I tell her again, no I don't want it as I don't want to pay 15 dollars for a half empty tortilla with 3 pieces of shrimp inside. She goes back and throws it away and then brings us the bill and the burrito in which I ate NONE of and sent back right away is still on the bill. The waitress tells us the owner will not allow her to take it off. We ask to speak to him and he comes out accusing us of trying to rip him off , claiming he watched me eat some burrito and had a video of it. We asked the waitress if she had shown him the burrito before tossing it and she said she had , it was clear if you saw it that only a piece had been cut off , not eaten but he was claiming that was a lie. We asked to see the "video evidence " he had of me supposedly eating the burrito and he pulled out an iPad and showed us a blurry video of my 18 year old daughter who looks absolutely nothing like me eating her food and was like "see, see you're trying to rip me off" we were in a booth, she was sitting next to me on the outside of the bench and you couldn't see me at all. My husband tried to say um that's our daughter, see the black hair (my hair is red) and how she us so petitie (my daughter is tiny and I am husky) and he kept saying we were lying try to rip him off. To he honest, he was scary and acted like he was on drugs in his mannerisms and behavior. We finally just paid the bill in full, tipped the waitress well and left. We go out to eat regularly for years and have never ever had any experience like this. We rarely complain or send our food back unless it's extremely bad. The whole experience left me embarrassed and shaken. I will obviously never ever return and i would not recommend this...

I love Mexican food having lived in AZ for a number of years, and this food was the closest to what I’ve been used to. However, the customer service was so awful I will not be eating here again. My daughter and I placed an order to be delivered by Door Dash. Part of my order was missing when it was delivered and when I contacted the restaurant, the young woman who answered my call admitted she forgot to put the items in my bag. I asked for a refund for the missing items as it was close to closing so I wasn’t going to be able to drive there before they closed, and was told no, that Door Dash takes care of all payments. After checking my account, I did see that the total amount had been charged by DoorDash. However, I was then charged AGAIN for my meal by the restaurant, rather than receiving a refund for the missing items. So I paid this place twice for an incomplete order. The manager told me to contact Door Dash, which I had already done. Needless to say, Door Dash would not do anything unless contacted by the restaurant. So I ended up paying $80 for $30 worth of food, and did not get a refund of $10. I gave my name and phone number to the restaurant manager, who, as of today, has made no effort to contact me. I have not received any sort of refund from either the restaurant or Door Dash. I recognize that $10 is not a great deal of money, but I truly feel I was scammed by both entities, neither of which made any effort to fix the problem. Absolutely will NOT recommend this restaurant or the Door Dash delivery service. If I could leave negative...

Ive been to tons of Mexican restaurants and ive been here twice so far with my family of 6 and they have the best food out of all of them. Everything on the menu looks good and its hard to make a decision from so many items to choose from. The only complaint I have is that the waitresses seem like they dont like to give more than one basket of nachos. The baskets are small and the first time I went our family of 6 received 1 basket. When we asked for more the waitress kinda hesitated and looked around as if she wasnt supposed to give more but she got them for us anyway, the second time we went, another waitress who was helping with our table asked if we needed more chips , we said yes please and the waitress who had waited for us the first time started speaking to her in spanish and it appeared that she might have been fussing at her about offering more chips. Every other restaurant ive been to have always been glad to give as much as youd like. Im sure the cost of the chips is pennies compared to the cost of a 6 person table. We felt a little uncomfortable like we were not welcome to enjoy the salsa bar for lack of chips. The awkwardness of feeling that it was asking too much for more chips at our table reflected in the tip that was left. I still left a tip but it was about 10 percent less than what I would normally leave. We will be returning again and again but maybe the waitresses can be made aware that if they like their tips, then they should refil the chips without hesitation and make their customers feel welcome and they will...
