Hmmmm. Where do I start? Born and raised in Lexington. My wife and I have been eating at this establishment since it opened. Last night, was the last night I will ever spend my hard earned cash there. 1..30 minute wait with tables and booths open, unless u had more than 2 people. 2..Finally sat at the booth I stared at for said 30 minutes that was open the whole time. ( I was a tad irrate at this point.) 3..8 minutes and 24 seconds before contact from anybody. 4..Server by the name of Bria appears. Awesome attitude and great smile. Takes our drink and food order. 5..15 minutes or so....food shows up. And u guessed it....my order was half correct. My wife's? NOPE. In fact, she was served a spicy sauce on the boneless wings. Uhhhh...she's highly sensitive to spicy foods. Bria,caught it just in time, and brought her the other somewhat correct order. 6..I asked for "floppy" wing chips. Which I've ordered there, many times. NOPE. Evidently noone in the back knows how to cook wing chips for less than the allotted amount of time or....maybe their out of a bag. 6..Bria worked her butt off....she could see I was a bit agitated to say the least. Ask for her if u go...she'll take care of u. Bottomline.....as I've stated, I own my own business. I get it. I know the workforce is missing at this point. But, at some point, u gotta quit using that excuse. Step up, do the job, even if there ain't nobody else comin. Do it. Quality and pride still matter in this country.    Read moreCarolina Wings has typically been my family's and my go to since moving to Lexington 7 years ago. I will however not be going back for a long while after the subpar quality of food we had for take out this past Sunday. There were several items that the server made note of that were not prepared the same way. These were minor, such as wing chips instead of fries or the wrong type of cheese on the burger, nothing that I would normally care about because the meal can still be enjoyed. The issue definitely became worse though as each of us began to eat our meal. I will give credit that the manager was willing to comp my burger due to the trash I found in it (see photo). When I brought up that my family, particularly my oldest, all got sick after eating here the manager stated we were the only ones to make a complaint about the food that day. Which brings me to why I'm here, trust but verify. Maybe someone else has eaten here recently and was told the same or decided it wasn't worth calling in knowing they may be told the same. None of us finished our to go order because we felt like there was something off regardless of it being the shrimp, burger, wing chips, wings, and/or fried pickles. While I understand the managers point of us not being able to say without a doubt it was the food from the restaurant at the same time if I find trash in my food it's not that far of a stretch to say the quality of all the food is now...
   Read moreI donât normally leave negative reviews even when I donât have a great experience, but I feel compelled to this time. First of all, the food isnât great. My hamburger was good, but everything else was average at best. The chips that come with the burger, which were labeled their âspecialty sideâ, were horrible. They were so soft it was like eating a cheese slice, and it had no flavor, Iâm not sure if thatâs how they always are or if they just werenât cooked properly. Either way, I asked if I could have another side instead. The waitress asked her manager and came back and told me per management policy, I can have another side but have to pay for it, they wouldnât let me simply sub out the side since it was on my plate already. I was in town because my area had been badly affected by Hurricane Helene and I was hungry and tired so I just said fine and paid for fries instead, which were better but still not great.
I understand that restaurants canât just give free sides away but in my opinion serving bad food and then charging a customer extra when they understandably arenât satisfied and would prefer something besides what is supposed to be the âsignature sideâ is bad service. On top of that a manager never came over to check on our table or apologize for anything we didnât like, which suggests they simply donât care.
