Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Lexington

Chipotle at Fayette Mall, Nicholasville Rd. I ordered five entrees to go. I asked for the salsa sauces and sour cream for all the burritos to be put into to-go cups instead of inside the burritos, to keep the food from getting soggy by the time I got home. They have done this for me in the past for to-go orders; in fact they would ask if I wanted the salsas in the burritos or separately in a cup. But this time, they gave me one little cup of each salsa and one little cup of sour cream and charged me $1.60 for each little cup calling it a “side”. First of all, I said I would need more to cover all five entrees, and they said I could get more but would have to pay $1.60 for each cup. I asked them if they would have charged me extra if the sauces and sour cream were inside the burritos and they said no, there’s no charge if it goes inside, but the same items put into a to-go cup instead of inside the burrito is considered a “side” and charged extra. To be clear, I did not ask for the sauces in addition to adding them to the burritos; I simply asked them to put it in a cup instead of inside the burrito to keep the burrito from becoming a soggy mess. I asked them what sense that made, and they said , “Hey, that’s what I’ve been told to do.” This is just petty, charging for salsa because it is in a plastic cup instead of inside the burrito! I wish I had had the presence of mind to say, “Then in that case, open up all the burritos and put the salsa inside them!” Too bad I thought of it after I paid and left. I won’t be...

Good barbacoa and that is why it gets at least 3 stars. I am an easy going food critic and can usually find something good in any meal. Sadly the amount of rice and beans given were abysmal in what I remember, since I havent ate here in over 3 years. In those three years the quality of meat has declined, the size of tortillas has gotten smaller, and the level of scoop of each item has gone right down the drain. They can stand behind their label now and have no fear of what they present cause the name carries them now. While I'm aware that the barbacoa and pinto come shipped in bags (used to be an employee there) that is no excuse for the lack of flavor and the taste of pinto being beyond mushy l, as well as the barbacoa is well flavored but lacked the juices to the point it was dry. Workers were respectful and did their job, but need to step up the portion. I've had bigger burritos with just meat, cheese, and rice than what the other ingredients that come with a chipotle burrito. Service declined in quality once not given a smile, which is a given when most staff are young and learning the ways of a customer driven industry. While employed there the customers satisfaction and giving someone a good sized meal for the price were of top priority. While this has changed, I cant say I will eat here anytime soon again. Just ordered a bowl to go. They had barely any white rice left so he scraped about a half of a spoon full out and smeared it around to try to cover the bottom of the container. Next up black beans. He had to fish around to get maybe half a spoon full. I asked for more he said they are running low and moved forward. I then said I would like steak and chicken and said 1 of each not half and half. And what does he do. Not even half of a scoop of each. I said can I get more please. He didn’t even acknowledge me. A female employee stepped up and took over and finished my order which she the salsa pico and cheese. She handed it off to the cashier and the cashier asked the male worker what I got. He said double chicken and steak. I said again there is no way you gave me double look at the bowl it doesn’t even reach the top of the brown container (it was about half filled.) The female worker said it looks like half and half to me but he charged me for full portions. So my bowl and chips and queso cost me $27 for half of the normal serving.
