TLDR: very difficult to communicate with, did not send final proofs for approval, and did not provide final pricing before blowing out the initial estimate.
I dropped off a jean jacket here several weeks ago. I was told by the employee that my requested design would be between $25-45, and that the owner would be in contact. The owner called me two days later to ask some questions about the design - when asked about size I essentially gave creative liberty to size the design to the back panel of the jacket. She said I would receive a proof that week. I called the store after nearly two weeks with no contact and was told that the owner wouldn’t be in until 4pm and she would call me back. (Note: A couple months prior I called the store with questions about a possible project and got the same response both times, and never received a call back as was promised. I even dropped in the store at the time I was told the owner would be there and was told she wasn’t in that day). When I told the employee on the phone all of this she said she’d call the owner immediately and let her know. I still didn’t receive a call. So I called back one more time and left a message and sent a text stating that the store had my item and I needed some communication. I got a text stating they had been out of town due to a family emergency and was sent a proof of my design. I requested a few changes and then 5 days later I received a voicemail with a question (about another part of the design that I never received a proof for and the final product is nearly illegible) and was told the jacket would be ready for pickup. I never received another proof after my requested edits. Which is a shame, because even though I like the final product, I would have had a couple other changes if I had seen a final proof. When I went to pickup the jacket the next day the same employee said it was $75… $30 more than the highest end of the estimate I received. I was never told the price would change and I was never given a specific quote. After I insisted on speaking with the owner the employee called her, spoke to her for a minute and then hung up and told me I could come back to speak with the owner when she was in later. I refused, stating the difficulties I had experienced in communication thus far. I only got the owner back on the phone after demanding to speak with her - the employee appeared hesitant to call again, making me wonder if she was fearful of getting into trouble with the owner. The owner then argued with me for over 10 minutes, stating “that design hung up a machine for 4 hours”, and “took a lot of thread”. To be clear, I believe all of that is possible because the end product is very nice. However, I don’t have any way to know that information, and ultimately, as the customer, none of that is my concern. If the price had changed after the owner gathered further details, that should have been communicated with me. As the employee told me, the ladies who work the desk are instructed to give customers a general estimate of $25-45 because most products fall under that range. And it appears the owner is then supposed to follow up with further communication on price and details. However, this business model doesn’t work if the owner does not want to speak to customers, the employees have minimal training, and the employees are scared of their boss. I had a long back and forth over the phone in which I was told I could either pay the $75 I was never quoted or I could leave my jacket with them because they “couldn’t possibly give it to [me] for $45”… which was the estimate I was initially given.
If you use this store, know that while they do nice work, they are extremely difficult to communicate with, which is an issue for a business selling customized art designs. I also suggest that you get a firm quote in writing as well as a firm design proof prior to leaving your item with them because I never received a finalized proof and would have lost the jacket I already owned if I chose not to pay the price that they decided to charge without...
Read moreA true gem of a shop! I was driving by this new shop and had some time to kill so I decided to stop in since parking was easy and I'm always looking for unique items. I am so very glad I did. I purchased several clothing items as well as a monogrammed shirt. They actually did the monogramming while I waited, it only took a few minutes and it was so beautifully done! The shops decor is updated with a gorgeous color palette which accents the varied products they sell. They can monogram practically anything you can think of and do an exceptional job! I rarely post reviews but I am just so happy with this true gem of a store that I felt I must post a review! The staff were just so helpful and friendly. Will definitely shop here again...
Read moreWe cannot say enough good things about Your Name Here Bowtique... We sent them a PDF version of our business logo and asked that it be put onto a few items including sweatshirts, t-shirts, and even a tablecloth, and they did SUCH an amazing job with everything. Other companies said that our logo was too difficult to digitalize, but Your Name Here Bowtique didn't even hesitate. They had our items finished in a very timely manner, and we could not be happier. We'll definitely be using them again in the future! THANK YOU, Your Name...
