Little pizza shop tucked away in a bagel shop (temporarily)
Ironically by the name, this was one of the worst pizza experiences we've had.
I walked in, lights were so dim almost seemed off. Had to double-take and make sure they were actually open or just accidentally left the door unlocked. After verifying the hours, i walked up to the order counter. Not a single person was present, and there was no bell or anything to announce presence.
After waiting about 3-5 minutes, a lady came out of the back carrying another order for two people sitting at a table. She came back to the P.O.S and simply asked what I wanted. No greeting, no hospitality. Just straight to the point. After placing my order, i was quoted 25 minutes.
I came back 20 minutes later to pick up my order. Coming back in, there was seemingly a larger party seated in the middle of the restaurant. I walked to the checkout again and waited. Finally a lady seated at the table got up and again, just asked what I was wanting.
After telling her I'm picking up an order under my name, she asked yet again what i wanted. Then clarified, and asked what I ordered. Whats the point of using names on orders if youre just going to ask what i ordered.
After everything i finally got my food.
We open it up, and it looks fairly regular. The cheesesticks, however, were luke warm and weirdly breaded. Whatever, every place does it different.
The star of the show, the pizza, was exceptionally crunchy in the bottom, and somehow extremely thick and way too chewy in the rest of the crust. The cheese was lackluster and didnt taste like any quality was present, same to every other topping we had received. Chicken was weirdly spongy, and almost tasted like shrimp. Pepperoni was boring, and the mushrooms were extremely soggy.
Going based off other reviews, i cannot believe that this was made in a stone oven. It has the same amount of cornmeal as papa johns uses, and the lack of browning ontop of the crust insist its a simple commercial oven and not a stone or wood oven.
Honestly the worst part of this was that 2 small personal pizzas, and cheese sticks somehow costs near 40 dollars. If youre charging that much money for 2 2 topping small pizzas, then you should be able to afford quality in the toppings.
Genuinely some of the most disappointing and lackluster pizza experiences we've ever had. From the service and hospitality,...
Read moreso there is a lot to unpack here. Let me take you on a journey. So today I attempted to get two slices of cheese from Lexington Best Pizza. After ordering from a nice young lady at the counter the whole thing fell apart. A woman who I believe to be the owner was obviously either extremely emotionally distraught or under the influence of some kind of drug or alcohol. She berated the staff of both the pizza place and the Bagel place incoherently. I assume everyone was related per their conversation. They attempted to help her, and make sense of the jibberish she was spouting, but no. The possibly inebriated lady reduced the poor girl to tears with the most vulgar screaming language. Multiple people had to try and calm her down. I was asked countless times what I ordered (2 slices of cheese) and after 30 plus minutes of the best Jerry Springer stuff one could comprehend. I was refunded by the young girl in tears as she apologized. I told her thank you, told her to never let anyone speak to her that way, and if she had the opportunity to seperate herself from that person she should. Unfortunately, I dont get the impression that is possible. I feel very bad for this young lady and I am dissapointed because I really like the bagel place but I will not be going back to either. Oh yeah, also the place smells like fish, its 90 degrees, and there are flies everywhere. My co worker got his slice of pizza. It looked good. I give Lexington who knows if its Best Pizza no stars as I can only rate it on Food, Service, and Atmosphere. Today it had...
Read moreOrdered a meat stromboli and a custom pizza "to-go". The stromboli was full of toppings and very tasty. The custom "Blanco" white pizza was also delicious. We ordered olive oil, garlic, spinach, mozz, pecorino and chicken on it. It turned out perfect. The dough was very flavorful, just thin enough, and had a nice chew to it. I'm originally from near Philadelphia, and this is what good pizza and stromboli...
