I wish I would have read the reviews before I visited as I would have saved my time and money by not going. While I know some places like to start their end of night duties an hour before close, however this place had a pretty full dining area. So I thought it would be okay to still dine in. My was I wrong.
While I was greeted when I walked in, that was the only time I truly had anyone be attentive. It took almost 5 minutes before the bartender greeted me. For some strange reason, the bar staff don't bring you water. There was one person that was the actual bartender but there was a guy in the bar area who said he was "helping" but I didn't see him really do much of that. I ordered a Henny Margarita. I don't know why I did that to myself because it was horrible and almost $13.
Since I was by myself, I thought sitting at the bar made the most sense and would get me faster service. I was wrong. The bartender didn't come back to me for almost 30 minutes. Even though I was sitting there for some time and it was obvious that I didn't touch my drink, there wasn't much acknowledgement towards me. There was a couple sitting at the bar when I arrived and they were frustrated with the service, seeing that they had part of their order missing, didn't get refills on their water and their chips and salsa came out literally a minute before their meal did. I should have taken that as my sign to leave but I didn't.
I walked into this restaurant st 10:10. I didn't receive my food until 10:50 and at that point I just asked for it to-go. I spent over $40 for food I didn't get to dine in and eat while it was still hot, with a drink that was horrible.
I understand that on a Friday, close to closing, that staff are ready to head home but they were nowhere near empty but were operating like they were. The bartender never checked back in on me until it was almost closing and I was still sitting there with no food.
Definitely not coming back to this establishment. This was my 1st and last time visiting this location. I use to eat Chili's regularly when I lived in Georgia and Floriday. It was the go-to spot for decent priced margaritas and pretty decent food. I don't know about other locations in the greater Chicago area but this one isn't worth the money.
I had to update my original review to highlight how the food wasn't great either. I got a ribs combo. I did the half rack and the chicken crispers with their fries and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese tasted weird, the ribs were a little burnt tasting and didn't fall off the bone easy. The chicken crispers were alright but no dipping sauce was offered. I paid $25 for a meal that I expected more from.
My advise for this location is to ensure you have attentive staff working on Friday and Saturday nights, especially at the bar. Too many people were walking around for me to have to wait as long as I did for my food. If they don't have the staff, then they need to close the kitchen early. Either way, they have lost my business. Despite the issues, I still was kind and tipped the bartender because I understand that's how they get paid and I'm not cruel like that. But he didn't get anywhere near what he could have if he had been more attentive. I noticed that when one of the other servers sibling came in, he was attentive to her and her friend but ignored me and another person at the bar...
Read moreIt was a wet Tuesday night on May 20th. My girlfriend and I drove to Chilis since she was craving the Triple Dipper a few weeks ago and we decided to finally go and try it. As soon as we walked in, we were greeting nicely and told to walk around the restaurant to find the Hostess. Once we found the Hostess, we were seated and then introduced to the one and only Jacob/Jakob (I’m not sure if it was a c or k). Jacob asked what drinks we wanted, I asked for a Lemonade while my Girlfriend got a Dr Pepper. Jacob told me that there was different flavors of the lemonade and I got the dragonfruit one. The dragonfruit lemonade was very pleasant and looked like a Slurp Juice from Fortnite. Next, Jacob asked what we wanted and we both got the FAMOUS CHILLIS TRIPLE DIPPER! We got the Buffalo tenders, chipotle honey mozzarella sticks and the big bites burger things. All three of the choices paired really well with each other and the ranch made them taste even BETTER. Now we get to the climax of this fabled review: JACOB! Jacob came up to our table and I asked “What are you thoughts on AI?” He gave us a very great answer of how AI has evolved over time and he mentioned about these chips that are put into the back of peoples head or ears. He said it was very scary how our phones listen to us. Next I asked who would win, “100 Men or 1 Gorilla?” And he absolutely loved the question. He said the humans would win for sure since depending on the type of gorilla and the amount of men rushing at 1 gorilla, the gorilla would stand no chance. After a couple minutes of more eating, Jacob came back and said “I have a question for you: Is water wet?” What an intriguing question someone from Chilis would ask. My girlfriend answered within seconds saying that if water was touching a surface, then it’s for sure wet. Jacob loved our response and then we got into the topic of Laurel and Yanny aswelll as what color the dress is. Jacob was such a genuine guy, very positive, loved our conversations and questions. Overall, the vibes were perfect for our little Chilis date and I hope Jacob gets promoted. Jacob, if you are reading this, I hope you have a wonderful day, you made both our nights...
Read more15 minutes wait to be seated, employees in the back talking, laughing and looking at us wait. 20 minutes went by waiting to order restaurant was not busy at all. Then we got hit with the worse, Jacob the server. Jacob had the most disgusting attitude, rude and does NOT have any knowledge of customer service. Dinner was for 2 he brought out 1 wrong plate and 20 minutes for the 2nd plate. Asked for the first plate to be corrected several times, he purposely waited unill the end to correct the 1st plate. Ordered a Margarita and it came back in a soda glass. Told me I couldn't get a sauce put on the tenders because the cooks hate "doing that". We asked to speak to the Manager over a dozen times, they never came. He said his Manager was busy and she said to give you a free dessert. Then Jacob tried to encourage us to get the free dessert and "forget about everything" we told him several times we didn't want a dessert we only wanted the manager. Still didn't happen. We seen a African American big guy with a dress shirt on and asked was he the manager he said yes im one of them. This dude had the audacity to squeeze himself in our booth sweating looking at his watch asking what happened cause he about to get off work. I told him I was leaving it up to him to fix the situation before I complained. This big sweaty dude constantly asked what was I going to say in the review and that I should say something good becausehe was doing us a favor. He asked if I had kids, after telling him yes he states "these ain't nothing but kids" okkkk in between time Jacob comes slams down some drinks we didn't order and walked off. I asked the "Manager" that invited himself to sit his sweaty self down at our table if he could comp the 1st plate since it wasn't what was ordered. He said I guess and asked for my debit card he had to do the transaction somewhere else. I've always payed at the table so I got up and followed him and he said "dang you don't trust me" and I said NO. Originally my bill was $39, the total then became $29. He gave me a receipt that wasn't itemized so I don't know exactly what he did. WILL NOT RETURN, DO...
