Love the people and this place♥️. This place offers so much!!! - tea iced or hot, coffee and coffee drinks, sandwiches, waffle bowls … just a few things. They offer so much to the community! Many groups meet here. Book clubs, neighborhood groups and more. There is a gift shop and small book shop as well. This is so much more than a coffee shop! All these people sincerely support the community as a whole. Located in the bottom of the old St James Anglican Catholic Church, the ambience is one of peace and relaxation. If I have a one on one meeting… this is my go to place!!!

PROs: Nice location in historic Liberty neighborhood. Parking lot is on the North end of the church. Or street parking. Plenty of indoor seats. Great place to host a small group or meet friends for coffee and a chat. Coffee was ok but the pastries were great. And Jake, the puppy, was a wonderful host. CONs: Handicap access is steep and narrow sidewalk at the back of the church. The ambience of books was overwhelming and cluttered. Coffee was extremely hot, burnt my tongue.

Our first visit to Holy Gounds off the Liberty Square did not disappoint! The coffee was some of the best I’ve tasted. It was nicely roasted, smooth and not bitter. My husband had the bacon, egg, and cheese waffle bowl and said it was incredible. I had the homemade chocolate croissant and it melted in my mouth. There is a lot going on in the space with an area to shop and shelves of books but they offer a lot of indoor seating as well as some outdoor seating. Walk up the stairs and check out the old church with beautiful carved wood and stained glass windows while you’re there. We will definitely be coming back...

We stopped in for breakfast sandwiches and coffee for the first time. While the service was pleasant, it was quite slow. After finally receiving our sandwiches, we took them outside only to discover the eggs were completely raw—not just runny yolks, but fully uncooked. I brought them back in to request a refund, as we didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes. Unfortunately, the staff had trouble processing the refund and we were only credited for one sandwich. It’s a charming place, and the coffee was good, so I really wanted to like it—but based on this experience, I can’t...
