Was looking forward to visiting this location. As entering the vibe was good, didn't feel very welcoming though when approached by server. No personality and did not make you feel welcome. We were just told to sit anywhere we wanted without a welcome greeting, we chose a booth, yes looked like the sixties, and definitely felt like it to. Very tight and uncomfortable. We placed our order didn't receive drinks until right before the food came out. When we received our order it looked amazing, we ordered the club with fresh cut fries, and a bacon cheeseburger with curly fries, with a suffer of mayo and house sauce. The club was enormous and my partner said it was really good, and the fries were amazing, as I tried a few! The bacon cheeseburger looked amazing, as well as the curly fries. The curly fries tasted good, but disappointed that I didn't have many curly pieces, a majority of them were small, like the button of the bag. The bun looked good, but was cold and was not toasted very well as they advertise on the menu. The burger itself had no flavor, was over cooked and hardly had any sauce on it. I don't see how they can advertise to having the best burger in Lincoln City, McDonald's is better! As they were not very busy at all, only 2 other tables, the server didn't come back until we were almost finished, and only asked if we needed anything else, not how the food was!! Then placed check on table, of course saying, no rush, whenever you're ready. After looking at ticket, I was very expecting to pay for the side of house sauce, but very disappointed to be paying for the side of mayo! When I went up to the register and approached by the server, no thank you for visiting our anything, no interaction at all, just to my card, and then I was done with this place for the first...
Read moreMy husband and I are new to the Lincoln City area and are ALWAYS on the hunt for a good burger. We waited all afternoon, looking forward to going to the 60s cafe, jumped into the truck around 6:30 and drove from the other side of Lincoln City. The outside of the cafe is very inviting which made us more 😊 excited......Only to walk in through the doors and be treated like we were invisible, as we waited over 5 or 7 mins to even be greeted. Ultimately being approached by a male waiter/server ( not sure which) to be TOLD in a very rude manner we are closed and the grills have all been turned off. It's 7:00pm they aren't supposed to close until 8:00. When we explained we were new to the area , had waited all day, he stated there was nothing he could do about it. We asked to speak with a manager, she approached with major attitude before we even spoke. When my husband stated that we had been looking forward to coming here, she stated (very rudely) "Well, I don't know what you want me to do about it. It doesn't pay to keep the doors open when it's slow" Like our $50+ dollars we were bound to spend meant nothing. My husband "Could you maybe offer us a free milkshake or some sort of discount for the inconvenience of driving across town, waiting so long to be greeted, only to be basically pushed right back out the door. Ultimately, they could have locked the doors when they shut there grills down. On their website, there is a section to reach out to the owners, I have! No response! As I am sure the food is great, our experience was not! We didn't even get to try! To many people have become rude, lazy and uninviting in service industry since COVID. Really sucks people are like that, and they get paid. Sincerely Severely disappointed...
Read moreI had heard great things about this place. After a long 10-hour road trip, we arrived on a Friday evening and decided to have dinner here. I will say, the restaurant’s interior does live up to the 60s style. But I can tell you what I did not like, I did not like being treated as if it were still the pre-civil rights era.
Somehow, we were good enough to be seated, but not served. We sat for 15 minutes and watched other customers be waited on, served, and pay their bills, while we were completely ignored. The staff looked at each other as if silently saying, “Who is going to serve them? I am not.” No one made eye contact with us. They found every excuse to avoid our table.
The host who seated us stood behind the counter, then rushed into the bathroom and stayed there until we left. The cashier walked around the restaurant helping others but made a visible effort to bypass our table. The message was loud and clear: we were not welcome.
I finally said, "Enough is enough. This is disrespectful and unacceptable." We left. They did not deserve our money.
Little did they know, I am an avid reviewer. Their mishandling of us cost them not just business, but a good review. Instead, our money and praise went to The Grill 1646 down the street—an awesome burger spot with great service.
60s Cafe was a major disappointment. If I could rate negative stars I would. We received nothing, we we treated negatively. Therefore my true rating would be -5 stars...yes...
