The food was good. The service was mostly good. I had a mostly good time, but there are two reasons I am giving a rating of 4 stars instead of 5. The main reason is I am disappointed that iHop didn't do anything special for Thanksgiving this year. I expected it because they had a couple items just for Thanksgiving last year. The 2nd reason is I had to ask for a refill. If you are waiting tables and a customer has to ask for a refill, you are failing the most basic thing about your job. November 2023
When I walked in, Samantha, immediately asked me if I was there to pick up an order. That tells me a lot of people were ordering ahead of time (probably with the app) and taking their food home. I was in the mood to eat at the restaurant this time. I was seated in a booth immediately and given a menu.
I ordered what I can best describe as a turkey dinner in a sandwich. It sounds weird, but it's turkey and stuffing in a big sandwich with wheat bread, and it was great. I had mine without the cranberry sauce. I had hashbrowns for the side. The sandwich was amazing, and the hashbrowns were perfect. It ended up being one of the best Thanksgiving dinners I ever had at a restaurant.
Before I left, I got a desert Belgium waffle to go. I'm glad they kept the ice cream and waffle separate because I didn't eat it right away. When I was ready to eat it, I heated the waffle in the oven at 300 degrees for 10 minutes and then put the ice cream on top. It was good.
As for the service, I am glad I ate there this time instead of rushing home with my meal because the service was great. Samantha took care of me and Jermaine helped a little. Read moreWe came here around 9:15am on a Tuesday morning. The food was good. The waitress was ok, she ignored us, mostly - probably because we were a group of 5.
The Hostess (or other waitress) sat us at a table and said our waitress would be with us. ("They have a Please Wait To Be Seated sign posted"). The waitress came over, said she could take our order now or it would be a minute before she got back over to us, so we gave her our order, she came back with our drinks, than she delivered our breakfast, 2 at a time and (( than said she was hungry and trying to figure out what to eat.)) After eating what could, we couldn't get her attention, so we asked another waitress for a couple of to-go container's. Our waitress was sitting at the counter eating and having a conversation with the cook through the serving window, who was in the kitchen and 2 other staff members standing in a area at the end of the counter ((which looked like a huge closet without a door and computer on a separate counter)) about something. She got up from the counter ((after the other waitress helped us)) and came over asked if we needed anything, not really meaning it ((you could tell)) and than quickly slapped our ticket on the table.
Maybe it was an off day for her, or maybe that's the new normal for good customer service, but none the less we tipped her $20 and paid our ticket of $67.

When we were ready to order, the server misplaced their tablet so he wrote it out and asked another server it log the order. 45 minutes later, our server went to see where our meal was and that's when he discovered it was never entered by the other server. This caused a heated argument between several staff. So we waited even longer for our meal.
I ordered the 12oz T-bone Steak Breakfast Combo, rare to medium rare, and was really looking forward to a nice juicy steak. When the meal arrived (over an hour after we first ordered), I was stunned at what they claimed was a 12oz T-bone steak. The steak was 3/8" thick and maybe weighted 8oz before cooking. Then to add further disappointment, the steak was cooked beyond well done - almost chewing on leather. It was so tough their steak knife wouldn't cut it. I couldn't complain to the server because as soon as he served our meal he went on break and didn't return until everyone else in my party was finished eating to deliver the check.
Then on top this, he rang up our ticket incorrectly, overcharging us. Everyone in my party left there feeling like we should have gone else where...
