I believe I can offer a unique perspective. Even though I have watched NUMEROUS shows at this facility, I have performed at this venue multiple times as well. The backstage dressing rooms are fantastic-- they are equipped with mirrors, sinks, restrooms, etc. There's even a green room! Regarding the stage, it is not huge, but certainly a good size, especially from the audience's perspective.

From the audience's perspective, most of the productions are wonderful. Great sound quality, acoustics, lighting, effects, and talent! The ushers are kind and courteous. There are pillows to borrow (free of charge) when viewing the performance. There is also an observation room at the back of the theatre. Concessions are sold, and usually some sort of "keepsake" boutique item is sold as well. There is a coat/bag check-in (optional) as well. Often times, there is a discount code for tickets that can grant you up to 50% off, without being a Season Pass holder-- and yes, you can purchase individual tickets. :)

I highly recommend the Lied Center if you are a prospective ticket buyer! Trust me, you will not regret your decision.

Going to see Phantom of The Opera with one of my childhood best friends this weekend, and could not be more excited! Hope to see you there. Note: This review is neither sponsored, nor endorsed by the Lied Center for Performing Arts of...

Made my first trip to the Lied center to see Phantom yesterday, and neither the show nor the facility disappointed.

As others mentioned, the central location is ideal for dining before or after the show, and offers ample parking at reasonable rates ($5 for event parking at a nearby garage).

The seats we had afforded us an excellent view of the stage (and the chandelier... great set piece). The sound was incredible, and I can't say enough how nice it was to have so much leg room! It is definitely not like being crammed into the tight rows of the Orpheum theater in Omaha or other older theater houses. The seats were incredibly comfortable.

I was surprised they allowed drinks and snacks (oh, the smell of those roasted cashews was delightful) back into the theater after intermission, but it was a happy surprise to be able to sip hot coffee during the final act.

The show is deserving of its own 5-star review, but a lot of its success has to be derived from the site of the performance, and in this regard the Lied center shined as a brilliant co-star. I look forward to going back for more performances later...

Took my daughter to The Little Mermaid last night for the opening show. During intermission we waited in line for the bathroom to go in and find out that “the toilets don’t flush so either hold it and move on or pee!” Yep!! You read that correctly! They continued to use an entire bathroom making patrons pee in nearly overflowing toilets filled with other peoples urine!! The fact that the workers continued to get frustrated as everyone who was standing there in disbelief and trying to decide if they would risk allowing their daughters to pee in this kind of environment is unreal! They told us “we know they aren’t working and they haven’t been since the water main break a month ago.” So let me get this right, you have known about this for a month and considering the donor board you have you didn’t get it fixed or at the very least you didn’t CLOSE the bathroom?? The health code violation associated with this alone should have made them close the bathroom down! These are porta potties but actual toilets at the Lied! Everyone that was forced to deal with this disgustingness should be...

*Disney's Little Mermaid. I'm not sure if I should leave a five or a one-star rating. 🫤 Being a person of meager means, I try to get to the most out of my money. However, traveling through Lincoln this week I was told about the Disney quality play of "The Little Mermaid." My new bride has never been to a play of that caliber so I decided to make the sacrifice and go. They had a little up charge at the center which can usually be avoided when you pay directly at the window instead of a website. Everything was going well until the intermission. The building had absolutely no running water with nearly 2,000 people in attendance. To make matters a little worse, the volunteers staff was not instructed by the management to warn the people entering into the restrooms. Without the ability to flush the toilets or rinsed to soap that was dispensed off of your hands, it soured the experience. In my opinion, management probably should have posted a warning or at least handed out water for people to get soap off of their skin for the remainder of the night. 🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

This review is based on watching the touring production of Rent 2019. The Lied Center's auditorium is large and spacious. I'm not sure if there is a bad seat in the house, mine was very nice. Plenty of leg room and could see everything without obstruction. The issues I encountered were the lack of theatre discipline by the center. People were on their phones, talking, using their flashlights and flashes. At no point did any usher make any comments or chastise the attendees for ruining the experience for everyone else. In fact they helped by using their own flashlights to blind the audience members. In addition, the tickets stated that latecomers would not be able to enter at any time and would have to wait for appropriate pauses. However, the distractions caused by people shuffling in at all manner of time was incredibly annoying. So if you'd like to see a touring Broadway production, I'd recommend you go somewhere else.

I have been attending performances at the Lied Center for as long as I can remember and have always had a 100% positive experience. Recently I have been shown even more reason to appreciate it. Besides the gorgeous acoustics, elegant style, and ease of access. The people have shown me such kindness. I attended the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra's performance of Antonin Dvorak's New World Symphony. At the time I was the 2016-2017 Miss Czech-Slovak US Queen, and attended in my kroj (Czech/Slovak dress) Maestro Polochick was doing a pre-concert talk in the commons area, and when he saw me he pulled me up in front of everyone and had me speak on behalf of the cultural preservation of the Czech and Slovak cultures, particularly through music. After this many staff members came up to me and expressed their deep appreciation, and I simply wanted to turn it around and express my thanks to them.
