Talon Room — Attraction in Lincoln

We had our ceremony in the upstairs part of Talon Room and our reception was downstairs immediately following the ceremony on Nov 23rd 2019. Words cannot describe how amazing our experience was at Talon Room with Matt, Dan and their staff from beginning to end. Everything about our wedding day was absolutely PERFECT. Whatever minor issues that did come up were solved almost immediately and it did not affect our day at all. Matt and Dan went above and beyond throughout the entire process. When we arrived on the Friday before our reception, the upstairs and downstairs areas were clean and ready for us to set up decorations. Tables were laid out the way we discussed with linens on them, napkins were ready to be folded, and chairs were in place. They helped us as much as they could during setup (without us even asking for help). We had to hang a few decor items from the ductwork on the ceiling (one of the items was a large 6’ lit wreath above the dance floor) and Matt never once complained about helping us. He grabbed a ladder, measured it, centered it as best as he could, and installed it for us. He even tested out the remote and made sure the lights worked well. When we arrived the next morning after the wedding, everything was already cleaned up and placed on tables for us to pack up. As far as the food, we had Talon Room cater the reception dinner and the pizza as a late night snack. All of our guests are still talking about the food and how amazing it was (FYI - food is something most wedding guests will NOT forget if it’s good or bad, so it was very important to us). We decided on the spinach and artichoke chicken and the beef in wholegrain sauce with 3 different pizza flavors for the late night snack. I can go on and on and on about our experience at Talon Room. To anyone who is wondering where to book their reception or their next event, please choose Talon Room. They will work hard to make sure everything is perfect for you! My husband and I used the Talon room to cater our wedding. We had it delivered to our venue and set up self-serve buffet style. The staff were great at being out of the way, but still ensuring the buffet trays remained full and everyone got the food they needed. We had several guests with various dietary restrictions (vegan and gluten free, allergy to dairy and mushrooms, as well as a few others) these were easily accommodated and there was plenty of food that everyone could enjoy. Our guests LOVED the food and several people said it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We swapped entrees pretty last minute, and the spinach artichoke chicken we chose was SO GOOD! The chicken was very moist and perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. Their spinach artichoke puff pastry bites are incredible. The smaller portion of dairy-free mashed potatoes we had for our dairy-free guests got rave reviews. The vegan/gluten free stuffed bell peppers which were supposed to be our vegan entree were so good my mother had us order enough that everyone could have half of one as a side. Leftovers were packaged promptly after dinner and most of my wedding party went home with several boxes of food that reheated quite well.

My only minor inconvenience was that sometimes email responses were quite delayed. That being said, Matt was always apologetic with his late responses, and every in-person interaction with him and the professionalism of his staff on the day of made it worth it. As a Wedding DJ, I can't say enough about the incredible experience I've had working alongside Talon Room over the years. The vintage building with exposed brick, combined with modern upgrades like mounted TVs for slideshows and monograms, creates a unique and beautiful atmosphere that really wows the guests.

The standout dish at the Talon Room is their beef tips and smashed potatoes, its simply amazing. It always receives rave reviews from everyone!
