I've been wanting to visit this place since I spotted it on the corner so I took my boyfriend there for a date night. Quick observations, some good, some bad, and some in between.
The server seemed very nice, attentive, and answered all our questions.
The green salsa tasted great. The only thing that could have elevated the experience would be if the chips were heated/warmed. But that is just a personal preference
I'm not sure what to make of the tradition red salsa. But I did not like it. My tastebuds became confused and it reminded me of cold tomato soup. Which was quite surprising since they seemed to have taken great care and thought into the green salsa offering.
I know that they had recently purchase what used to be a diner and then a Japanese steak house. But I am hoping that they will eventually transition to purchasing their own serving dishes and the like. It appeared that they were utilizing old diner syrup containers to serve the salsa as well as Asian inspired plating for the serving of the salsa. The set up just seemed all over the place. But I do know that they just recently moved into this building still I hope that it will be something they will work on. One of the things I enjoy about Mexican restaurants is the atmosphere. I'd say that is the one thing I would...
Read moreThis place came highly recommend but was a HUGE disappointment. I was so excited and looking for a good meal here and wanted to love it. The table was sticky and dirty and the whole atmosphere is dirty. Our server was rude and grouchy and even walked away as I was asking questions about the menu. I ordered chili relleno de puerco with rice and beans, we also ordered guacamole to share. The relleno came luke warm and was very small. I could not find even 1 sliver of pork. The beans were literally bean broth with no beans at all. I asked another server about this and he told me they put the beans in a blender. I asked about the pork and he said the same. I told him we didn't get the guac and he brought it with only 3 more chips. It waa a struggle to get more chips and the guac was drenched with too much lime. One of the worst meals of my life. Gross food dirty restaurant and...
Read moreI read the reviews, most were good, some were not good. Anyway, only way to know is to try it out yourself. It is a mexican/Salvador restaurant. There were only 2 good things about it. 1) the green salsa (btw, the red salsa I swear was tomato sauce), and another was very sour, like strong chili powder or something. 2) the nice waitress, what we saw of her, anyway. Restaurant seemed clean. Waitress was nice and took care of us, until our food arrived, then never saw her again, until checkout. The place wasn't busy at all, so that excuse can't be used. Only 2 tables were being occupied. I ordered combo fajitas. Meat was overcooked, dry and hard. Very bland, no flavor at all. I can make better food than this. I have zero plans to go back. Maybe I just chose the wrong day, but, I was not impressed enough to...
