This is a detailed and completely honest review as I went yesterday as a first timer. I had made an appointment for 12 pm and I was greeted and taken in right away. The service was amazing and Tiffany, the lady who took care of me, was pretty nice. She even got my massage chair nice and ready for me before I sat down. Now I would have rated this 4 maybe even 5 stars if my nails came out better. I am all for amazing service which this nail spa had, but the results in my nails and my feet weren't the best. The clean up and nail doings, such as cutting cuticles, nail polish clean up, nail filing, foot exfoliating/massaging and a bit of nail polish applying. My feet are still rough and gross. I ended up having to exfoliate my feet when I got home because there was still dead skin and roughness on the heels of my feet; she mainly focused on the center of my feet which is not so problematic than the heel. The "massaging" was not really a massage, it felt and looked as more if she was just rubbing the product on my legs; the feet massaging was okay. There is still a bit of polish left on the sides of nails of my hands on my skin or on my cuticles. The cuticle/nail clean up was not the best as the area around my nails still look kind of the same before I went in, as my right hand came out better than my left hand. My index finger polish application on my left was not great. It looks fat and thick from too much polish applying. The ring finger on my left hand is filed weirdly, unevenly and not great. Filed too much on one side so its dented in more than looking round like I requested. She asked me three times if I wanted to cut my nails and with the same response as a "yes please" she still did not cut them. She was also really rough. Now I understand you have to take your clients hands and feet closer to you or near you so you can work but she was a little rough with grabbing and bringing my hands or feet to or infront of her. It was also super quiet in the place. No music was playing, the tvs were on which was nice but it would have been better if the volume on each of the tvs they had were up if they did not have music playing. She also kept trying to persuade me into doing other services such as the nail powder and some other nail service. which I understand to promote your business services, but if I made an appointment for just two things then thats all I want. Again, would have been 4/5 star if everything I listed above for improvement was done and accomplished; you would also think that for high prices in the services, everything would have been 5 star quality. But I...
Read moreThe most rushed mani/pedi I’ve ever had. My appointment was at 5:15 and they close at 7. Had a standard pedi (no gel or anything) and a dip manicure with no existing dip or any other polish on my nails. I didn’t see a single tool sanitized or come out of a sanitizer pack. I’ve received my fair share of dip manicures and typically I wash the sanded dust off my hands before the final top coat goes on and I wasn’t told to do that so my nails are all bumpy. The manicurist did a sloppy job putting the dip on that my skin got stuck to the dip and in order to get it disconnected, she DUG her nail into my skin so hard I could’ve screamed. She cut me quite a few times while buffing the dip and my nail beds simply because she was speeding to get out of there. Basically as soon as I was done with her and into the pedicure chair she was out the door which confirmed my assumptions. The pedicurist was too busy chatting to another tech that she ended up cutting my nail beds too and sanding the skin right above it. Didn’t give me a chance to let my toes dry, just shooed me out of the salon. I was there almost 2 hours and there were customers who came in after me who didn’t get the same level of treatment. Won’t give these people my...
Read moreI was very satisfied with my first visit, when Miley (spelling?) removed gel from another manicure and gave me a lovely new gel manicure. I returned to have it removed and get a standard polish manicure to give my nails "a break". This time I had a young man. He said I should get a dip if I wanted stronger nails. I was skeptical after having watched my friend have dip removed with some electric buffing tool when we were preparing for her wedding, and that maicurist even had told me not to get into dipping if I want to preserve my nails. Getting back to this manicure at Bonsai, I refused the dip, and it felt awkward from there. He reminded me that I would not have this "classic" manicure for long, which I understood. I was mostly there to get the gel professionally removed. The removal of the gel was very rough and uncomfortable. Later, I was very sad to see the state of my nails when the classic polish came off. I had lots of scratches, marks, and even peeling in my natural nails from the gel removal. It's taking weeks to grow out the damage. According to my research, a salon should be able to remove gel without this much damage. I would say who you get matters greatly...
