We had a few hours with no kids and decided to venture out for lunch to somewhere weâd never been. Times Square has been on my list for a while after hearing quite a few recommendations from people so we decided to check it out. Located in a shared shopping center with fryâs, Ace Hardware and quite a few others parking can be an issue. We parked a bit from the restaurant to makes for an easy exit when we were done. When we walked inside thereâs a sign to wait to be seated. You can walk around the corner though and sit at the bar if you wanted a drink or appetizer. It smelled amazing inside and with the amount of people coming and going I was confident it would be delicious. We were greeted instantly and seated at one of their booths. Our waitress was finishing up a table so another gentleman took our drink order. Once our waitress was done she came over with a smile and took our appetizer of crab cakes to get started. While we waited I couldnât help but look at all the other meals coming out including some yummy looking salads and pizzas. The crab cake came out pretty quickly with a side of pesto mayo, some lemon slices and atop some lettuce. Id never had a crab cake before. The portions were large for the two of us. The cakes were crispy, flavorful and even better with the added pesto mayo. Their menu is huge so if you have anxiety of that sort of thing I recommend looking at home to get an idea of what youâd like. It took us quite a bit of time just to decide because everything sounded so delicious. I had come thinking Iâd get a pizza, but the pasta choices were so awesome I quickly changed my mind. I finally decided on the Linguini Principessa which is shrimp and chopped clams in a garlic cream sauce. My husband chose Pasta Giovanni which includes sausage, chicken and mushrooms sautĂŠed in tomato cream demiglaze sauce with garlic and red pepper and tossed with penne pasta. My mouth was watering just thinking about it. When everything came out shortly after I was so pleased with not only presentation, but you could tell how fresh it was, sauce was perfect and mine was full of shrimp and clam yum! Noodles were perfect and the garlic bread that came with our meals was baked to perfection. My husband who can be a tougher critic at times loved his pasta and didnât even need to season it at all. That is a huge deal. We stuffed ourselves silly and again my husband who never does took the remainder of his meal home. After giving our meal some time to rest while we talked we decided to share a strawberry cheesecake for dessert. It was heaven! Most cheesecakes taste thick and heavy, overly sweet etc but this was so dang good. It was light, strawberries a good topping and the perfect amount of sweet to share. Weâre already planning our next visit. I should add they also serve breakfast everyday of the week; I was surprised too. It is not all day breakfasts so check times before heading over. They have multiple locations if Litchfield Park is not...
Read moreI ordered a pizza through Doordash, this review is based on that order.
I ordered a chicken pizza with buffalo sauce for my son. When the pizza got here, it was cold, (I mean cold) and a quarter of the toppings for the pizza were in the box instead of on the pizza. This could have been the fault of the Dasher, but I can't be sure. For $33 and change, I expected a great pizza...my son's exact words: It was alright, not great. I tried a bite of the chicken, and though I expect buffalo sauce to be spicy, this was so spicy that even if I had wanted to eat some of it, I couldn't.
Edit: got a second order from this restaurant also through Doordash. The only reason I did was because I had ordered it before the pizza I reviewed above. For this order, I got the Sausage and Pepper pasta, and the Manicotti with spinach, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. I also ordered garlic bread and canolli, spending almost $68.
My dad said that the Sausage and Pepper pasta was 'Ok.'
I got the Manicotti...
Italian food is usually rich with flavors; vine ripened tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, oregano, and basil. What I got was sauce that tasted more like Ragu jarred sauce than the 'home made' they claim it to be, and very bland. The ricotta cheese was grainy instead of the smooth, creamy texture you expect from good ricotta cheese. This ricotta cheese tasted more like a store brand cheese. It also seemed like it was layered like lasagna instead of the tube like noodles that manicotti is. The noodles were over-cooked instead of the Al dente that good Italian cooks would make, and the food was lukewarm at best. I know that could be a delivery issue, but according to Doordash, it only took about 15 minutes to get here from the restaurant. Top it off with the fact that they package their food in aluminum containers making it impossible to reheat it in the microwave without plating it, and it makes for a disappointing meal. The whole point of ordering out is not having to do dishes.
I haven't tried the cannoli yet, but I am not hopeful for the flavor, taste and texture of it. The ONLY thing I can say good about Time Square Pizzeria is they do have good garlic bread.
I spent almost $110 for food, delivery, service fee and tip for these two deliveries...never again.
Sorry so long a review, but one of the best things in life is good food...and this wasn't :(
Second edit; the cannoli wasn't bad...not great, especially when it costs almost $7, but I've had better. My son said, and I quote: The cannoli from Walmart is...
Read moreNot impressed. Went for breakfast â my first (and last) time there. There was one large party, and the two of us. It was so noisy that we could not hear each other, so we had no conversation with our meal. Ordered Corned Beef Hash and Eggs, with the Home Fried potatoes option. Asked for the eggs âwhites cooked but yolks runnyâ. Waitress said âover mediumâ. Food did come out quickly. When she brought my plate I saw a large pile of rough-cut potato chunks with bits of bell peppers and onions, and two eggsâŚone cooked to perfection, the other one with the yolk broken and, what little was left of it, cooked hard. I brought it to her attention and she said, âOh, the cook is new, Iâll have him cook some new eggs for youâ. Maybe the cook was new, but she was not. Did she not look at the plate before bringing it to the table? I then asked her, âWhere is the corned beef hash?â and she said, âUnder the potatoesâ. I have ordered corned beef hash numerous times in many different places. They have been served under the eggs, but Iâve never had them served âunder the potatoesâ. I told her to just leave the dish, since I didnât want my companion to have to wait for another order to be cooked. I tried one piece of potato, but it was hard and not fully cooked through. I moved the potatoes aside to get to the corned beef hash and found a very small layer of chopped meat, cut into roughly Âź inch chunks -- unlike any corned beef âhashâ Iâve ever seen. She said âSome people expect the canned hash, but we prepare it fresh. It comes in a loaf that we slice and then cut up and fryâ. It was so tough I could barely chew it. She did ask if I would like something else, and I said I would be happy with a couple sausage links. She brought two sausage pattiesâŚthen told me they only have patties. Well, the sausage was better than I expectedâŚnot overcooked, as is the case in many places Iâve eaten. So, I ended up with one properly-cooked egg and yolk, one cooked egg white, and two sausage patties, for $9.95. The service was good (other than serving the poorly-cooked eggs) They were very attentive, filling our coffee cups before they were even empty. I looked over their menu and they do have a lot of options, but if the other items are as âoriginalâ as their corned beef hash, Iâm not sure what would show up...
