LOCATION Desi Chowrastha Little Elm, TX 1971 FM 423, Frisco TX - 75034 I want a toggle button for selecting zero for this unprofessional place ! Strongly Do Not Recommend – Misleading Buffet and Poorly Managed Last Sunday, we went to the Desi Chowrastha location in Little Elm, Dallas, for their breakfast buffet. We arrived around 10:20 AM — a bit late for breakfast — so we first checked with the staff at the counter if the buffet was still available. They assured us that it was open for some more time and said if we found seats, we could pay and join. We found a table and, since I had already taken my pre-diabetic medication, my husband went ahead to check what was actually available before we paid. He noticed that many trays were either empty or only half-filled. He specifically asked the staff if they were planning to refill the buffet, and they promised that they would. Based on that assurance, we purchased coupons for our family of three. But once we got in line, we quickly realized we had made a mistake. • There was a long queue of people waiting, but most trays remained empty throughout our time there. • Pongal and medu vadai were never refilled even once. • The only items being replenished — and very slowly — were plain dosas soaked in oil, puris, and maida-based bondas. • For someone like me with pre-diabetic concerns, there were no healthy options to eat. The rava upma was watery and mushy, and the idlis were rock solid. • The chutneys had no real flavor, and even those were minimal. When my husband complained again, staff just kept saying they would refill — but they never did. What was even more shocking was that they kept selling buffet coupons to new customers, knowing full well that the buffet was practically over. People kept arriving, finding seats, and getting into the long queue with no idea that most trays were empty and wouldn’t be restocked. Other customers around us were clearly frustrated too. It was very apparent that management was either completely absent or just indifferent, leaving overwhelmed employees to handle everything during peak weekend hours. It felt like there was no oversight, no accountability, and no respect for paying customers. We asked for a refund since we hardly got to eat anything, and they refused. It was an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience — especially because we trusted their word before paying. This was a disaster of a breakfast buffet. Poor food quality, nonexistent service, and misleading promises. I strongly do not recommend Desi Chaurasta. You deserve better for your money — and your time.

Yours -*@Artist Yaswanth* ⭐ Honest Review – Chowrastha (Groceries, Halal Meat & Eatery) I always write genuine reviews — not to hurt any restaurant, but to help both customers and owners improve. Coming to the food, I wouldn’t call it awesome or horrible — it’s somewhere in between. The main concern is hygiene. The food felt more like college hostel or mess food, not like proper restaurant quality. The real disappointment was the customer service. When a customer gives feedback, especially about something serious like finding hair in the food, the staff should come forward, respond politely, and take responsibility. Instead, they just said, “We’ll tell the team,” and continued their work. After informing them about the issue, they didn’t even say “I apologize” or offer to replace the item. I just left my item there — even then, no one responded. That moment honestly hurt me, because when a customer takes the time to give feedback, the staff should care. It’s not a small thing — yes, you can technically remove the hair and continue eating, but is that really right? That’s why I hope the restaurant focuses more on quality, hygiene, and customer respect. 👉 The restaurant really needs to train the staff on how to speak with customers, how to handle feedback, and how to maintain hygiene. I understand many of them might be students working part-time, but that’s exactly why proper guidance and training are important. I’m not saying “don’t go” — you can visit and try, but please check your food carefully. I’m sharing this review so both the store management and customers can be more aware. All my reviews are genuine, not paid promotions. My goal is to help people get safe, quality food and help businesses improve honestly.

I used to like Desi Chowrastha, but the food quality has really gone downhill. The fried rice I ordered was extremely oily and filled with cloves and even a cinnamon stick which made no sense. The vegetables were chopped into huge chunks and I even found two green chili stems in it. Seriously, who eats chili stems? On top of that, there was way too much black pepper. The dish felt unhygienic, and I honestly felt like throwing up after eating. Really disappointed I’m not sure if the owner or manager even reads these reviews, because it feels like customer satisfaction isn’t a priority. It seems like the focus is just on making money, not on food quality or hygiene. But if this continues, it’s only a matter of time before serious consequences follow. I urge the management to take this feedback seriously. Customers should not have to pay and risk getting sick from poorly prepared food. This grocery store clearly has a serious and recurring problem with the quality of its produce.

During our recent visit for groceries, we came across numerous rotten vegetables and fruits. Despite bringing this to the attention of staff at the billing counter twice, the issue was dismissed with silly reasons like we usually get fresh stock and it wasn't refilled today . Next time he just okay and brushed off.

Even tye refilling guy just nodded and was busy refilling stock.

Specifically, the onion display was shocking. Instead of fresh produce, we found a large, overflowing bin of cracked and opened onions, attracting flies and mostof em have black dry to semi wet mold. This isn't a simple case of not being refilled; it indicates a lack of basic hygiene and quality control.

The pomegranates were equally unacceptable.

Out of approximately 4 lbs purchased, 1.5 were rotten inside. This isn't an isolated incident. Our previous experience involved similarly spoiled onions, tomatoes with visible white and green mold and pomegranates with white and old seeds.

Selling produce that is visibly rotten, moldy, or infected is a significant health concern and demonstrates a blatant disregard for customer well-being. The staff's apparent indifference when these issues were raised is also shockind. They were least bothered.

It's clear that the management itself is promoting such practices because so many staff wouldn't act like they are bothered about such produce mean they are being encouraged to do so.

So I think management has to be held responsible as staff mostly follow what the owners tell them to.

To the management: please take immediate action to address this unacceptable situation. Are these the kinds of moldy vegetables and fruits you would feed to your own families and children? This store needs a serious overhaul of its produce handling and quality control procedures before customers lose all trust. Respect people's tike money and trust and health.

I wish there's a hygiene check here by...
