Mariscos Sinaloa — Restaurant in Little Elm

TERRIBLE SERVICE! We arrived at around 3 PM, with only one other table occupied with at least 5 waitresses available. Both my husband and I have been waiters so our expectations aren’t unreasonable. We understand that the waitress can only control what she can control (i.e. not including the bar, the kitchen, etc.) But when we have to flag her down for every refill or order, that’s an issue for us. Her service was mediocre before the owner or manager, or whatever he is to the establishment, came in. As soon as he came in, she planted her ass at his table with his two little boys and we had to flag her down for everything from that moment forward. What a damn shame that he’s obviously a significant contributor to the establishment and he was OK with us having to flag her down (he’s the one that would see us first, then had to tell her). We have never left a restaurant without tipping a generous amount, but the service was so atrocious that I absolutely did not tip her and trust me, our bill was hefty - 3 seafood bowls and 6 alcoholic beverages, but if she doesn’t care about the tip, why should I?! Wow, this place was amazing. I’ve never really had Mexican seafood like this. We came after seeing the reviews. My wife was a little nervous because she’s used to Tex Mex, but she got the shrimp fajitas and they were the best we’ve ever had. They were butterfly cut and grilled with the shell on. She does like having to remove the tails at other places, but they were perfectly cooked, sauced, and seasoned. The shell came off with ease and it kept all of the flavors. I had the octopus and this was my first time, but the reviews kept talking about it and it was amazing and a lot of food. I’m getting full and I’m half way through the octopus and I have touched my fries. This is really great, the service has been wonderful. I visited Mariscos Sinaloa over the weekend with my family, hoping for a relaxing dinner out. Unfortunately, the service we received from our waitress Mayeli was very disappointing. She seemed far more attentive to the male customers at nearby tables, while we had to go out of our way to get her attention multiple times. We had to ask three separate times just to get more drinks, and we had to remind her to bring utensils for my son’s dish, along with a few other basic things we needed to enjoy our meal.

It felt like we were being overlooked, and that really took away from the experience. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because every guest deserves to be treated with the same attention...
