Almost Home Taphouse — Restaurant in Little Elm

I really enjoyed trivia and bingo; however, not so much any longer. Just experienced bingo after a hiatus of a couple of months.

I showed up @ 6:15 which is 45 mins early. The only table seats left were 2, 4 tops. There were 7 in my group and I snagged the last 2 tables. I need to add that these were CARD tables. All of the other tables were RESERVED.

Having enough tables for a large function was a first for me. First come, first served obviously is a thing of the past. I will say that it was good that there were extra tables outside for the overflow.

The time between games was so exaggerated that one of our team members decided it was too much and left early. Finally one of our team members won (gave the winning token away, lest they be tied to another trip to utilize their "winning" beer). This winner was able to beat the rush of winners so I'm unsure of the outcome. I will say that we didn't leave until 9:15 due to the waste of time between sessions.

We have all decided that this is our last bingo at AHTH. We would much rather spend REAL MONEY at the bingo hall in Denton and DRIVE than have to deal with fake RESERVATIONS and exaggerated wait times between games.

Another concern is Friday night Poker. Two of our team members attempted to book Friday Poker night online, and found out that when reserving online doesn't mean that AHTH is booked. They showed up just in case and NO ONE WAS EVEN PLAYING!!!! The bartender had no clue that online reservations was an option or available!

We used to love coming here and supporting a small business; the beer selection is diverse and the employees we’ve met have been great. We have a boat in the marina behind the location, and have routinely come here after a day on the lake. Recently however, they’ve employed a new bartender that is incredibly rude, and keeps her dog loose in the bar, and is more interested in socializing with friends at the bar than patrons coming in. We’re dog people, but it’s not appropriate in this setting. We can’t bring in food without the dog begging the entire time, or listening to the bartender repeatedly disciplining the dog. Fun little place with an interesting selection of beers to choose from. I actually found a new favorite beer! We came in when they had a catering crew serving BBQ, which was AMAZING, but that is a different review.😅 We enjoyed our time and actually decided to have a second round because of the nice atmosphere and fun games they have available to play. We ran through the trivia games and had a blast! We plan to come back again soon to try another round of drinks. They actually let you try the drinks before buying, which is pretty cool.
