Sun-Ray Pizzeria — Restaurant in Little Falls

I ordered pasta with vodka sauce, and when I got home and started eating, I noticed there was meat in it. I’m a vegetarian, so I called back and asked if they make their vodka sauce with meat, and they said “Yes, we put bacon in it”. It does not say anywhere on their menu that there is any type of meat in the vodka sauce, and I told them this, and then asked if I’d be able to come in and get another dish instead as a replacement. They said “No, it’s your responsibility to inform us or ask about any food allergies when ordering.” How am I supposed to tell them to not put bacon in my pasta if the menu doesn’t say it contains bacon? They said, “That’s what vodka sauce is, that’s how everyone makes it. Vodka sauce is tomatoes, cream, and bacon.” That is most definitely not how “most places make it” because I have ordered from so many other restaurants that have never put bacon in their vodka sauce, and if they did, it was clearly stated on the menu, and said this to them. I asked again if there was any way I could sub the dish for another, and they said no. I was being nothing but polite and nice on the phone since I work in a restaurant and deal with customers everyday. I didn’t even ask for a refund, just a replacement so they didn’t lose any money out of this. It sucks, because the sandwich my boyfriend ordered was delicious, but we probably won’t ever be going back because they did absolutely nothing to try to resolve this issue. This is my first negative review on google. I wanted to try a new pizza place and settled on this one, based on its reviews. However, my family and I were very disappointed. I was told that my order would be at my house in an hour but instead it came an hour and a half later. One specialty slice that I ordered had a burnt crust that was inedible. The pie that I ordered was very greasy and not that great. Garlic knots were large but just okay. The delivery driver was nice at least. But, overall, I won't ever order from this place again.
