So tonight my boyfriend and I went into the University location at 852pm. I placed my order and then my boyfriend waited to place his. The lady that placed my order never took his order but went right to making my order with the other two ladies already in the kitchen. Ibasked had he placed his order and he said no and should he said no the lady hadn't come back to the register. So when he asked if he could place his order he was told they are now closed. What!!! We were in the restaurant before 9! A lady with braids came behind us and turned off the open sign. I placed my order! So then the lady with long braids got an attitude and mumbled under her breath that she was going for this or something to that nature, and proceeded to the register to say again they are. Closed and the registers shut down at 859pm. Sooooo very rude. We were floored. My boyfriend even stated how rude the lady was, then she responded ok what do you want to order? I was just again stunned at her attitude. He just walked out and I grabbed my prepared order which was leaking and not what I had ordered. So unprofessional. We will NEVER visit this location again. Not sure who the manager is but there was definitely a lack of leadership skills tonight. No offer to come back with a gift certificate or something for the confusion. My Boyfriend was just overlooked by the cashier and then was given an attitude by the lady with braids. She didnt care. We want to go home too!! I mean He stood at the register waiting to place his order which never happened. Wow that's all I can say. And they made my smoothies poorly and my Sante Fe Quesadilla was just...
Read moreI have ordered from the midtown Tropical Smoothie through the Doordash app several times in the past two weeks and there has been an issue over half the time. I always order a Peanut Paradise and recently, all I can taste are bananas, no peanut. One time it wasn't blended all the way, I got ice chunks stuck in my straw. The other day, they forgot my straws so I had to dig in the packet drawer to find a straw. Yesterday, however, they forgot to pack half of my order. The Dasher arrived with two smoothies and left without my food. I place some blame on the Dasher because she obviously didn't even look at the ticket. My bag wasn't sealed (it never is) and there's never any stickers on the lids. I called the store to find out what happened. I was told the wrong receipt was attached to my bag and I told her that's not true, I had the correct receipt so how is it possible to leave out a quesadilla and chips? She told me I could come get what was missing but I'm disabled and I don't drive so I just didn't eat. Doordash doesn't offer to send anyone else to go pick up what was missing, I would have had to place another order. The average cost per order is over $30 and with a decent tip for the dasher, I pay close to $40 for each order. Many people have to work 3-4 hours to earn $40 and it would be nice to get the correct order, with straws, napkins, etc., or maybe just don't accept the online order if you can't fulfill it correctly. It's very frustrating for customers, especially those who depend...
Read moreI attempted to visit this store at 8:30pm yesterday, as their hours are 9am to 9pm on Sundays. However, when I got there, having driven, parked, and walked across the parking lot in the rain, as soon as I walked in the door, where I saw that all of the lights were still on and that there were at least three employees behind the counter, the woman nearest the register immediately snapped, "We're closed!"
"Your hours say you're open until 9pm."
"We decided to close just now!"
"Just arbitrarily?"
That's when another woman standing nearby snapped with even more hostility than the first one had shown immediately upon my walking in, "Yes!"
"So, I shouldn't come back, because I can never know when you might be open or closed?"
"That's right!"
"Did you really just say that?"
"Yes!"
"Okay. And what's your name?"
"If you don't get out of this store right now, I'm calling the police!"
So, I went home, empty-handed and hungry, because this is apparently the customer service culture at Tropical Smoothie. They close at random times, they admit to doing so, they discourage would-be customers from visiting, because customers can never be sure if they'll be open, and if you ask them who they are so that you can try to follow up with their management, they refuse to answer and instead just threaten to call the police.
Needless to say, I will take their advice and never visit them again, and I strongly recommend others...
