2021 Review I only lowered my star by one point instead of two. This is because there are so many businesses and services where they are short staffed and where the employees they do have are overworked. I understand this. My husband works retail and has at some points not had a day off in month, working sometimes over 17 hours, over 75 hours a week and as a salary person he gets not overtime for those hours even if he has worked over 40 extra hours in ONE week. He goes to DQ a lot due to his long hours, being hungry when he has worked over 17 hours with no lunch break. So he knows the people pretty good and has a co-worker who used to manage it years ago.
This being said, he believes it was a new employee he had dealt with. They had a bit of an attitude when he made a few requests. He asked for two plain cheeseburgers, 2 hotdogs, one large onion ring order and 2 Bacon Cheese Grill Burgers that he requested no tomatoes on. The employee told him they do NOT put tomatoes on their burgers. He has always stated no tomatoes so the little attitude and eye rolling that they don't serve tomatoes...OKAY So my husband only had checked the cheeseburgers as they were for children. They were not plain so he went in and returned them for two plain cheeseburgers. He was in the parking lot at the time. Yes, new employee they are plain CHEESEburgers. He tried to say that a cheeseburger is not plain if it has cheese on it. Maybe they should explain the difference to their employees that they have hamburgers and cheeseburger separately on their menu and that the attitude might be something they do at home but in the work place, not professional. I wish he had checked the rest of the order. The large onion ring order was small, the 2 hot dogs ended up being only 1, the 2 Bacon Cheese Grill Burgers where DQ doesn't use tomatoes had tomatoes. Hey thanks, the person who this was intended for has an allergy to tomatoes. Returning AGAIN isn't easy living out in the country.
I get that places are short employee. Mistakes happen but the entire order was WRONG. THEN the employee was an eye rolling, attitude, rude person. You might want to teach these new employees about customer service, not being rude, and getting their orders more correct. They increase their workload and make customers frustrated and angry with their attitudes.
You know, it sounds worse and maybe I should lower it to two stars.

This is an okay Dairy Queen. The people seem friendly enough. The tables are usually cleaned up so you aren't stuck looking for an empty table that is clean.

Read moreI’m usually not one to complain but this seems to be an ongoing Issue at DQ in live oak. Me and my family visit Dairy Queen’s frequently, my children and my husband love the ice cream from there. It seems like every time I go through the drive through I end up having several different employees hand me one thing at a time. I am one person you can clearly see in my car that I have no one to hold 6 different ice creams. I ask for cup holders and the next employee comes and hands me another milkshake or blizzard by the time one of them realizes that I need the cup holders I asked for when I got to the window I’m covered in ice cream because they never put lids on the ice cream that I order or give me napkins this has happened 4 times in the past months. Tonight we go back and order two milkshakes with whipped cream two ice cream sundaes and two small ice cream cups luckily my family was with me this time. They walk to the window with no lids no napkins and no cup holders and start handing them out the window so my husband again ask for a cup holder we get it we leave to head home (20minutes away) Realize that everything we received was completely messed up from what we asked for. But when you call and ask to speak with someone they say can you come by and bring all the product back with you. Now I probably wouldn’t mind doing this if it wasn’t a 20 minute ride with children that have school the next day but I just spent 49 plus dollars on ice cream that wasn’t what I ordered I don’t know if the crew needs to be trained more or if they or new because when I have spoke to management this is what I have been told but it would be nice if we could come order from DQ and leave with what we wanted and not be covered in ice cream. It should be an automatic thing to put cup holders with orders that have more than 4 drinks and napkins should be given with every order. Read moreI visit this DQ at least once a week (usually more). With one exception, the employees are AWESOME!! The size of the Sundaes seem to always be small, no matter if you want a large--Please note I did get a large with extra hot fudge once.... so it can happen!!! My knowledge of the menu is limited, I have tried the Sundae and I love the peanut butter cup Blizzard. Not bowled over by the burger and fries I had while ago, but I have had a LOT worse. Jade(a) has been the best recently (I did notice the name on the receipt was different today). I give DQ reviews for the "Free" Dilly Bar but they changed the system/receipts so they (online) won't accept them. I liked getting them and letting DQ know how they were doing (can only do it every 15 days), but now I can't. I'm going to try the DQ App again- (heavily advertised), I have had it for a while and never had it work. First it's the register, then no one knows how to use it, and the last time I tried to access the App it wouldn't let me in. THANKS FOR HANGING IN! Finally, at the beginning I said there was one exception, MONACO! Except for one visit, she is barely polite! At least the mask hides it now (you can't tell). ANY issue you have is not her fault, responsibility, out-of-her-control or she can only tell "someone" - (Monaco, I thought you had changed and gave DQ (and you) a very positive review).
