My recent visit to Polo Corner left me underwhelmed. The restaurant itself boasts a pleasant atmosphere, making for an inviting dining environment. However, the food and service failed to meet expectations, significantly impacting our overall experience.
I ordered the chili quiles, excited for a hearty and flavorful meal. Unfortunately, it proved a challenge to enjoy, as the dish was excessively spicy to overshadow any other flavors it might have had. This made it difficult to appreciate the meal thoroughly.
On the other hand, my wife opted for the breakfast burrito, expecting a delicious blend of ingredients. Disappointingly, the burrito was predominantly filled with eggs, lacking in diversity and, most crucially, in flavor. It was a bland offering that left much to be desired from a dish that usually promises a satisfying start to the day.
The service we received was just OK. While there were no significant issues, there wasn’t anything particularly noteworthy about the service to make up for the shortcomings in the meal. It felt like just going through the motions, which, combined with the underwhelming food, contributed to a lackluster dining experience.
Given the overall experience, I cannot recommend Polo Corner. While the atmosphere might draw you in, the food and service do not meet expectations, making it difficult to...
Read moreDon't waste your time trying to eat at this place, the service is awful, and the food isn't good enough to make up for it. I've had multiple experiences with this restaurant with being sat on the patio and promptly forgotten. The first time we sat for 45 minutes and didn't even get a chance to order before we decided to leave. Today was arguably worse. My brother and I were sat outside and had our order taken, and then proceeded to be ignored by every member of the wait staff for the next 20 minutes until our waiter remembered to drop off the soft drink I ordered, no apologies for the delay, no update on our food. Our order finally arrived after another 20 minutes of being ignored. In that same window, I witnessed multiple other tables being sat and receiving their order without the same type of delay.
When I asked to speak to the manager, the guy came by with an attitude and seemed disinterested in trying to fix the problem, and more focused on trying to get me to shut up. My burger arrived overcooked, and with the patty in multiple pieces, and the guy didn't even seem to care, just "I'll make you another". So I can wait another 40 minutes for mediocre food? No thanks. Credit to him, they didn't charge me for the burger, so there's that at least.
Go eat at Denica's just down the road, better food, fantastic...
Read moreWe were referred to Polo’s Corner from a friend and It was already promising at as we pulled up to the restaurant, there was plenty of parking. We were greeted warmly with a big smile by Erick, who we would find out is the owner. He spoke excitedly about the menu and gave us a moment to look it over. The atmosphere of the restaurant is bright and airy. I really liked that the kitchen and cooking areas were in view and we could see the chef’s working on other people’s meals. The choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner are ample with a lot of choices for vegetarians, seafood and meat lovers. I ended up ordering the wagyu beef burger and my wife ordered the crab sandwich. The seafood offerings also looked delicious but those will be for our next visit. After Erick took our order, the food was brought out to us without a long wait. It seemed like those around us were enjoying their meals and it’s a wonderful ambiance. It’s not a fancy place, but the food is upscale and it was incredibly tasty. The Dessert menu boasts some really yummy choices and is worth a look. The next time we go back, it will be for breakfast. I snuck a peak at that menu as well and I may be going back sooner than I think. Thank you Erick and staff for an amazing culinary experience....
