East Flour — Restaurant in Livingston

This is more of a "takeout" than a dine-in restaurant. Most of the food felt like it was frozen and did not taste fresh. Won't be visiting again. Part of the restaurant was set up like a convenience store and had items out for sale, which made the restaurant look very disorganized and tawdry. For the quality of food and taste, it was way overpriced. Not sure how this place is rated above 4 🤔. If you are dying of hunger and all nearby restaurants are closed, then yes do visit, otherwise there are better dim sum restaurants that make fresh food!

Food: Shumai was a bit salty and the sticky rice was soggy Pancake w.Chili Pepper Beef- beef was a bit tough, nor fresh and pancake definitely was not freshly made. Beef Noodle Soup lacked flavor and the beef was, surpise also tough. Family Spicy Hot Pot was okay- the beef was once again tough, but chicken and fish were fine. Only thing "decent" was the fried milk roll and even that was obviously frozen.

I would give it negative stars if I could. I went today based on the great reviews. I had a party of 6. I tried calling 6 times ahead of time to let them know of large party but no one picks up. So went anyways 30 minutes after opening and was greeted at the door with you can’t come in as we don’t have seats. The atmosphere is small and dingy which looked more like a storage facility than restaurant at the front and there are only maybe 6 tables of 2. Not only was the woman not welcoming at the door, but not even helpful to say oh you can sit separately or the wait is xxx minutes because these people just sat there are no tables together or something other than pushing us out the door. Everyone at the party felt literally insulted and not welcoming. Whoever this person is is doing this place a huge disservice even if the food is good. I will NEVER consider...

Really tasty food but hygiene levels are just gross. The empty plates, bowls and glasses had residual water on them all. Just as we started to eat , a sewage cleaning truck pulled up outside and ran their clean out pipe down the middle of the restaurant creating an unbearable stench. The staff seemed to carry on as if this was completely acceptable. I had to clench my nose and call attention at which point they were all understanding and quickly moved us to their patio seating. What threw me off is how casual and acceptable it was for them to have diners eating while the stench of a sewage pipe was running down middle of restaurants.
