Honestly, this cocktail bar could be outstanding with a little bit of change. However, as it is now, it’s not up to snuff. First of all, it is as if their air conditioning is off or is not in working order, it’s very stuffy. The music is quite loud, especially for a “speakeasy vibe,” and the type of music they were playing (upbeat Latin music) doesn’t make sense for the type of venue it is. We noticed our table was very sticky (cleanliness?). The man who waited on our table got our drink order and then went back to his bar stool to drink with his buddies, then we watched him grab a bottle of liquor from behind the bar and pour him and his friends shots. Additionally, when we finally got our drinks (at least 10 minutes apart for only two drinks) they were sub-par. No one came to check on us to see if we enjoyed our selections because they were clearly too busy drinking themselves, rather than to check on us.
If you’re willing to pay $13 per cocktail, you can find a much better place in the area who serves their drinks in the proper glasses with good service and a...
Read moreWell we ended up walking out and back down three flights of stairs, so unfortunate because we love a speakeasy vibe (as seen in another review of mine). Upon arriving in the bar we observed four workers/ bartenders behind the 10ft. bar, not one acknowledged us for 10 minutes while we stood there, I tried waving to them and pretty much was ignored. As we decided to just leave and as we're on the other side of the door we finally heard somebody address us but it way too late. We were already put off. I have no idea what kind of specialty drinks they have since we were never even handed a menu, if they even have that sort of thing, but again we wouldn't know. We're also perfectly fine enjoying bourbon but we couldn't even get that far. We really wanted to enjoy this.. but we expect service. 933 Speakeasy,...
Read morethis is a "hidden" gem in lockport! joe and sue are amazing and its such a great atmosphere. it can get busy later at night on friday or saturday so if you want a more relaxed vibe id recommend a thursday. its nice that they have a basement elevator at ground level (sounds weird i know but they do which really helps because i walk with a cane) and it goes straight up to the third floor. if you go when they open at 5 it should be a lot more quiet if thats what youre going for. and you can order off of the downstairs food menu! i highly suggest this place as every time ive been there it has been nothing but...
