Never going to order from here EVER again! I used UberEATS to place an order for delivery. After placing my order I received a phone call that my father had fallen and was being rushed to the hospital. I canceled my order with UberEATS, unfortunately I was in a rush and didn't see that I got charge the full amount minus the delivery fee. I called UberEATS they stated I needed to call the restaurant. So I called a young lady answered I asked to speak to a manager and she stated no manger was in. Well I found that hard to believe a good operating business should have a manager on duty always. I informed her about the situation and she started UberEATS easts had to resolve it. So I called back, we obviously nothing was resolved. Neither party showed any sympathy what so ever. I decided to send a PM via Facebook to Diamonds, they read it but no response.
I understand I placed a large order however this was an unfortunate situation where I had to cancel. I don't feel it's right I'm charged the full amount, I do feel I should pay something but not 60 plus dollars for an order that was canceled within less than 5 minutes. Two words of advice, do not use UberEATS not order from here they didn't seem to care and that's...
Read moreMy husband and I met some friends for lunch in February. I suggested Torro based on some of the reviews I read - I should have continued reading more reviews before I suggested trying this place. We were the only table, but the service was slow. We all ordered off the lunch menu and for the price the portions were on the small side; my husband and I usually bring half of our lunch home from other restaurants because we're full, but this time we ate everything and I was still hungry. The food was mediocre at best. I had enchiladas and they had no flavor, the beans and rice were cold. One of our diners had to get up and get the server's attention to get the tortillas that came with a couple of fajita plates. Actually, only one person liked their food, but also said the beans and rice were cold. The only positive note was the drinks were decent. The server, apparently, was also the bartender because she was more focused on mixing up gallon jugs of sangria, margaritas, etc. instead of checking to see if we needed anything. We've had far better carry out Mexican food from El Burrito Habanero on State Street and La Michoacana Del Valle on 159th Street. I'm pretty sure this will be the only time we...
Read moreWe visited after only a month of their opening.
Short review: good but a bit overpriced. E.g., $16 drinks that would typically be $12 (btw, the Paloma is excellent)
Interesting menu. We struggled to find the "fusion" in Asian/Mexican Fusion. Items were mostly Asian or Mexican. Ambiance is good, but the "Under the Wave of Kanagawa " crashing into a pyramid seems to not be thought out IMO.
A bit overpriced for the quality of the dish. Specifically, the guacamole is overpriced. Not a bad dish; simply not competitively priced.
Definitely get the tamales. They are spectacular! Next time, I'll only get them. Side beans were canned-- wish they were homemade too.
Lamb ramen was good. Flavorful, but small portion for $20 and boxed ramen. Wish they were homemade. This was the one dish where we found the "fusion", and it was tasty. Looking forward to exploring more of their entrees like the birria tacos and chicken pozole.
Sushi rolls are good but compared to sushi bars, not competitively price (Asian Harbor just next door!).
A "meh" experience but we'll try them again after they've...
