Exit 212 along Georgia's busy I-75 is an excellent place to stop for food, fuel, or picking up anything that's needed. It is unsurprising that such a bustling exit has a Waffle House (well, two actually, one on each side of the interstate). In this case, I headed eastward and stopped by what is apparently the older of the two Waffle House locations here.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and prompt with service, bringing delicious hot coffee quickly - much appreciated when on a road trip - and taking our orders right away. The restaurant was very clean, bathroom included, but above all the servers were delightfully friendly and warm. This Waffle House was a highlight of that famed Southern hospitality.
I ordered the All Star Special, which came with 2x eggs cooked to order, toast, grtis (or oatmeal), sausage (or bacon), and a waffle. My partner ordered a breakfast melt sandwich with hashbrowns. It took about 10 minutes to receive our food, all of it cooked fresh and arriving warm. Everything was delicious - perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs and some of the best seasoned grits I've yet had. As one might expect, Waffle House prices are excellent for what you get, too.
My visit to this Waffle House location was a win. I admittedly overlook Waffle House at times during my travels, but thanks to this location, great food, and wonderful staff, I'll be keeping Waffle House on my "go to" list, to include for those late nights when you want something hearty and satisfying to keep you going.
If you're looking for an affordable but tasty dining option when traveling I-75 through Central Georgia, keep an eye out for Exit 212 and this quality Waffle House location. I suspect you'll be as satisfied as I was...
Read moreI ordered breakfast to go this morning. The lady who actually took my order, had very poor manners and quite a nasty attitude. I went over my order a couple of times because she repeated it back wrong. I then told her how I wanted the grits, and she kept mocking what I said to the cook. After waiting patiently for my food, the cook called out my to go order was ready. Which she was literally on the same space. My food sat there, and when I asked another worker if she could get it for me, who was about the rude employee came over and grabbed the food. The other worker apologized. I did quite catch her name because she didn't give me my receipt, but she had brown hair, with a visor on, and a black waffle house short sleeved shirt, she was a caucasian lady. I've been at this location before and never had any issues as such. Manners and politeness goes a long way. Some ppl just choose to be rude and nasty for whatever...
Read moreWorst Waffle House i've ever been to. Dirty. Screaming kids. Parents didn't have the good sense to just pack it up and leave. Staff either didn't have the good sense to ask them to leave, or maybe they don't have the authority, either way, terrible dining experience. We would have just left, but it was late and we were just off the road after a 12 hr drive and pickings are slim in that area. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato. I asked for crisp bacon, it was the opposite of crisp. There was so little cheese that by the time I removed the parts of the sandwich that had no cheese, there wasn't much left, so now I'm still hungry. I would have ordered breakfast at this point, but I like my eggs poached, and I figured if a cook at the Waffle House can't get bacon right, there was no hope for eggs. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive, the woman cooking the food was not happy to be working,...
